Very rich, deep, balanced aroma with hints of cedar, orangy fruit and semi-sweet chocolate. Rather fat-bodied in the cup, with continuing hints of flowers, dark chocolate, and a pungent citrus that I read as grapefruit. A distractingly sharp, astringent mouthfeel rounds and softens as the cup cools, but continues to dominate in the finish.

"To this date I am continuously trying new coffees, some based on reviews I find here. I don't understand some of the ratings many of these coffees have been getting. It is absolutely ridiculous to evaluate the quality of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend based on a pre-ground supermarket sample. It is not the same coffee. Order it fresh, whole bean, and if you don't find that it is, quite simply, the best coffee you've ever tasted, then you and I are very different animals."

"The best of Peet's widely available roasts.
Wonderful aroma, deep and complex flavor (smokey, chocolate and fruit), but somewhat bitter or astringent aftertase that lingers. The aftertase is easily put in check with a little milk or cream. Highly recommended.
I brewed this at home from fresh ground beans in a drip coffee maker with filtered water. I tested it black, with milk and with sugar"
