A Big little bit smaller bag
    Aug 26 2008
    Pros:
Available Accessories, Comfortable, Compact but Roomy, Strong Construction
    Cons:
    Hard To Access Equipment
    Best Uses:
    Protecting Gear, Transporting Gear
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am extremely happy with the selection of this bag from Domke. I wanted a quality bag just large enough for my basic kit, but not any larger. I am able to fit my 2 Leica R bodies, power winder, and 2 vario lenses along with flash, and room to spare for a few filters and extra film and batts. This bag fit the bill. The construction is extremely durable, and the natural cotton canvas and webbing is much more comfortable against me than the nylon or other artificial fiber bags I have previously used. I am so happy that we can still design and manufacture quality products in the US. I do have to take a few points off for the clasps used to close the top flap- they are a little bit fidgety sometimes, but very old school cool though.

I recently purchased the F-6 bag for my E-510. The bag worked great, it held my camera the two lenses, battery charger, battery, spare memory card (and reader), as well as my cell phone and charger, wallet, notebook, pencil and numerous other items. I used the bag my whole vacation to California. It really is a great versatile bag.

Great durable bag. There is nothing fancy about it, but it provides outstanding, rugged care for my DSLR, two lenses, shades, flash, mini-tripod and sensor cleaning kit. The only change would be to make it about one inch taller to accommodate the 70-300mm on the camera without pushing against the top of the bag.

Perfect day pack, my favorite bag.
    Jul 28 2008
    Pros:
Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Long strap, Several inserts available, Strong Construction
    Best Uses:
    Transporting Gear
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use this bag as a day pack. While it looks small, it will hold much more than you might expect it to. I usually carry a Nikon D80, two lenses and sometimes a flash. While it is a tight fit, it will actually hold my D80 with 18-70 lens attached, three additional lenses, a second body and a SB-800 flash & charger. (Reminds me a little of a clown car). It has a very long and comfortable strap for those of us who are well over 6ft. While hiking this is a very "quiet " bag. This may be an advantage for wedding photographers also. The bag is soft enough that it wraps around your hip and distributes weight evenly. (All my other bags have a single pressure point.) I am easy on equiptment but others may want a little more padding.

I was using a Domke F-2 for my Leica M system.
    Found it was to deep.
So I bought this F-6 because it was shallower.
Just right height, no longer losing smaller equipment in the deeps of the bag.
Only one minor problem, I wish it has the 2" strap instead of the 1.5" strap.

    Just the Right Size

    Pros:
Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Well Padded, cleanable
    Best Uses:
Protecting Gear, Storing Gear, Transporting Gear, grab and go jobs
    Bottom Line:

There are times when I do not need to carry everything. I have several of the large Domke bags and loved them. I needed something just a little smaller and found it in this F-6 bag. It carries my digital SLR with 2 extra lenses and a flash just fine. It is very comfortable on the shoulder and stays close to your body. It's durable and I have found it is also cleanable. The outside pocket is just the right size for a notepad and a snack. It's just the right size for those last minute grab and go jobs.

I use this bag for my Nikon D80 and 3 lenses, flash and assorted sd cards and batteries. It works quite well, but will have to upgrade as my gear expands. Overall, a good value.

    Great Camera Bag
    May 22 2008
    Pros:
Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Strong Construction
    Best Uses:
    Daily Usage, Protecting Gear
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased this bag about two months ago and have been using it since. I really like the bag becuase it does not look like a camera bag, and it holds all my stuff just great. I have a Nikon D-80 body, a 70-300 zoom lense, a 50 mm fixed lense and a 17-70 zoom lense. I also carry a Nikon SB-800 flash. All this fits nicely into the bag along with filters and other small items.

The bag is well made and there were no probelems with it when I recieved it. The sholder strap and handle strap make carrying the bag very easy, does not slip of my sholder a very important feature.

The internal compartments seem to be just the right size for my setup. However if you want to keep the camera in the bag with a lense mounted you either need to oder a different insert or consider a different bag. At first I thought this might be a problem, but for me it has not been an issue.

The only other issue I have is the color of the bag in the photo is not exactly correct. the Sandy colored bag is a little lighter than shown in the photo's on-line. I don't know if the manufacturer changed the material or did a bad job on the photo.

Overall I really have enjoyed this bag for its utility and that it does not "look" like a camera bag. There are two reason's this is important, less likely that someone will lift it because they think there is a lot of expesive equipment in it, and second you don't feel so inhibited carrying it.

It is a "soft" bag so is not suitable for shipping or rough handling. But the protection provided by the inserts is sufficient for normal handling and usage. Just don't expect it to be bomb proof, for that you need a differnet type of bag. This is a "working" bag for out on a shoot or knocking about.
