"I started my project thinking "heck no, I'm not spending [$]+ on a grill head". Out of the box, I could see why the DCS costs, and is worth more. And the first steaks proved it. I'm ruined, thanks DCS, I have to replace my dad's BBQ now that I bought him for father's day. Describing the BBQ, I'll borrow the title of an Stephen Ambrose book "Nothing Like it in the World!"I'd suggest purchasing the NG or Propane version, even if you have to wait. [...] made good on the challenges we encountered, as I knew they would, but if you want propane, buy propane, if you want NG, buy NG. The pictured steaks involved some drilling and modifications that we should have needed to do if the unit was converted by the DCS kit. DCS does sell a conversion kit, so it is a multi fuel unit. The kit even includes a placard to relabel the unit as NG."

"I have been using this grill for 3 years now and have been generally satisifed. I have not been satified with previous gas grills for various reasons, but this grill was good enought to get me to put away the carcoal.
I do have several suggested improvements for this grill.
1. The battery operated ignition system has failed twice in 3 years and it is not covered under warentee. The battery replacement is very difficult as you must press a 9v battery up into a closed plastic box. The plastic is flexible so, I feared breaking the plastic if I pushed too hard or not seating the battery correctly if I pushed too softly. A redisn is in order.
2. I am 6'2" and when the hood cover is open, the curved shape forces the heat and smoke directly into my face. I have taken to doing deep knee bends while I work the grill. I thus burn a few extra calories before dinner. Nevertheless, this is my biggest problem with the grill.
3. The grill temperature is relatively even over the entire surface, but there are a few cool spots that I just take into my food placement.
4. The burner sensitivity is not as good as I would like. The searing high temperature is excellent, and I feel no need to purchase one of the units that promote extra hot searing. The grill, does, however go from hot to cool a little too quickly and it would be nice to have a little more burner control."
