I leave it on all my cameras
"I have used the VL-3 on all three of my GL-2 cameras for 2-3 years. I never take them off. It is just enough fill light for dim lit areas.The only thing that gave me a problem on two of them, after 2 years of service, my audio on my GL-2 would cut in and out.
