"I have a very small space for a washer and dryer, so I was extremely happy to find out Maytag made one in this size. It works so much better than the other one I had with a top load washer. It seems to fit more items as well, since there isn't the agitator in the middle--like the top load models. All of my clothes come out really clean! Definitely worth the price!"

"I've had my compact Maytag washer (the Neptune) for two years. Living in a mobile home, I needed a washer that was exceptionally compact. I also needed something of a workhorse to keep up with a teenager's constant wardrobe changes as well as some relatively bulky (although not particularly heavy) items. I've found this machine meets these criteria, it's quite easy to set and use, and it's water and energy efficient.
Definitely worth the money I paid for it.

"Got this washer. Hated it. Sounds like a jet engine is revving up in your laundry room. After 3 or 4 months, it started to smell like mildew all the time. (Yes, I followed the instructions to keep this from happening, but it still happened.)
Maytag was no help at all when I complained to them.
I want to be enivronmentally friendly, and use less detergent and water, but I traded this washer for a regular one that rated high for efficiency.
A lot of these front loaders have been involved in recalls and litigation.
We also bought a Maytag dishwasher, which had a recall because they tended to catch fire! The repairman was very rude, and acted like we should have ignored the recall rather than bother him!
Maytag used to really care about quality and customers, but not any more.
Maytag was bought by Whirlpool a while back. Jenn Air is also owned by the same company. I will never buy a Maytag, Whirlpool, or Jenn Air product again. Sorry, Maytag."
