"Dear ThinkGeek.com -
While searching your website for items in your cube warfare section, I stumbled upon the Annoy-a-tron. As I was considering purchasing a device that would actively attacking one of my employees, I knew I had hit the jackpot when I saw the more passive approach of the Annoy-a-tron. This particular employee, who I will refer to as "Craig," has a history of being bothered by high pitched sounds. The thought of planting such a device in his workspace brought a huge smile to my face.
That night, I scouted out Craig's cubicle and found the perfect hiding space - inside his cubicle wall. I knew this was the perfect space as it would take him significant effort to remove the device should he ever isolate it to its exact location.
When the Annoy-a-tron arrived, I returned to work that night with the necessary tools to detach the desk from the wall and remove the cubicle wall paneling. It took me a solid twenty minutes to remove, install, and reassemble the workspace so I was confident that it'd be difficult for him to remove even if he did isolate it to being in the wall.
During the first week, Craig started rearranging every item on his desk in an effort to identify the source of the beeping. He noticed the "beep" within the first ten minutes of the first day. In his words, he was "systematically moving things around his desk in an effort to find out where the sound was coming from." Over the next few days, he unplugged every single electrical device from within his cube, the adjacent cubes, and he even performed an A-B-A swap with his power strip, monitor, and laptop. Once again, this was unsuccessful.
Once, he mentioned how the beep was very inconsistent, which almost made me laugh in front of him, since the device advertises that it emits beep every 2-8 minutes. At this point, I was expecting him to pull up a spreadsheet with times of the beeping, but he apparently hasn't thought of that yet. Also in the first week, he enlisted the help of several other employees to help him identify the source of the 2 kHz "beep." At one point, I walked by his desk and saw three people looming over his cube, not saying a word, waiting for the "beep" to occur. I was in my office laughing when I saw all of them point to different areas in the cube. Craig was noticeably annoyed.
During the second week, he began rooting through every box, drawer, and binder of his and all three adjacent cubes in an effort to find the "freaking beeping." Our co-workers in the adjacent cubes don't seem to mind it as much, but throughout the day, I hear him ask them if they heard it and where they think it is coming from.
On Monday of the third week of the Annoy-a-tron, Craig and I went out to lunch and he told me that he had a dream about the beeping! In his dream, he started rummaging around his desk looking for the source, and that he finally identified that the "beep" was coming from a green pen that was on his desk. He opened the pen and found a beeping device. Mind you, this was all in his dream. He was elated enough that he actually woke up from his dream!! I just about fell out of my chair when he told me this. When he came into the office that particular morning, he scoured his desk for a green pen, but to no avail.
At this point, I am pretty sure I have psychologically messed with his head. So, I did what any good friend would do, and I just received my second Annoy-a-tron in the mail. I have plans to place it in the drop ceiling near him. Thanks for providing me with a device that has given me, and a select few employees, hours of laughter and enjoyment.
Sincerely,
Rob Patterson

"Dear fellow Geeks,
I have to take the time to write and say that the Annoy-A-Tron is more than you might expect. I got mine in last week and took it to work. I am a police officer and fellow geek to be sure! My shift LT is also a fellow Geek and probably has more toys in his patrol car than I have in mine. It is amazing that either one of us have any juice left in the batteries to turn on the blue lights.
I had a fellow officer distract our LT while I reached in his passenger window (while he was still in the drivers seat) and I connected the Annoy-A-Tron to the under side of his laptop mount in the patrol car...in less than a second.
I then left and spend the next four hours driving around town laughing in tears 'cause I knew what was going on inside that patrol car. I met back up with him four hours later and asked how he was doing. Protecting you from all his "*%!@" words he used, lets just say that the Annoy-A-Tron drove him insane as he kept wiggling wires and making all sorts of guesses as to which one of his toys was going bad!!! He said for me to stand by, that I will be getting my payback soon...VERY SOON!!!
As if that was not enough for the night...
I went over to our 911 dispatch center and laid the Annoy-A-Tron down behind one of the dispatchers monitors...I had let the other dispatchers in on it when I got there so they would not help her find the source of the noise.
I then left and called back every half hour to get a report on my latest victim. It was ABSOLUTELY driving her insane!!! So after about three hours I went over and sat in the dispatch center until it when off while I was there...
"THERE!!! DID YOU HEAR THAT "@%&*!" NOISE???"...
she screamed!!! Eventually I "located" the source for her and she came unglued!!! It was a site to behold!!! She sounded a lot like my LT in his patrol car...
She thought it was the "vitamins" she took before work (I'm not making that up), causing some sort of "interfernce" with the computers and radios...WHAT??? Then she thought it was her "PLASTIC" hair band...so she threw it away...PLASTIC??? Hmmm.....Then then thought it was her microphone and then the new terminal they had just installed that day before she came to work. She actually had to take some medication for the headache it gave her!!! She now hates me and I am 2-0 on my "ANNOY" list!!!
The Annoy-A-Tron is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AND WHAT A PRICE!!!"
