My 10 year old cat has food allergies. I have to switch his foods often, as he seems to build up allergies to new food over time. When his allergies kick in, he responds with pulling out his hair on his back legs and stomach. When I found this food I was really excited. I thought that possibly this one might be a winner - even over the long haul - as his main allergy is to chicken and this had no trace of chicken in the ingredients. He did not like the food - he lost 4 pounds (1/3 of his body weight) in the 2 months that I kept hoping he'd like it. My Vet kept telling me that he'd eat it when he got hungry. He only picked at it - just keeping his intake to what he absolutely had to eat to survive. Also, his allergies did not lessen at all. He continued to pull out his hair. When I realized how much weight he'd lost - I immediately switched him to a grocery store brand temporarily (Purina One Select), and he gained his weight back. Boots is my cat that is allergic to anything and everything. She was vomiting at least once a week which was making it very difficult for me to clean up. In some cases the vomiting was so much and hurt her so much, I even considered putting her down because I tried everything. I worked with the vet to try different foods and nothing worked. I read the reviews here and decided to give this a try. Since I have switched her over the vomiting has ceased. I just took her to the vet for her checkup and gave the empty bag to the vet for her to keep and recommend for other cat owners that might be having the same problems. While this product line is a bit pricey, my cat with food allergies loves it! It has all natural ingredients and no fillers. I've tried so many different varieties of Limited-Ingredient-Diet foods in search of relief for my Siamese. I've learned a lot about this issue in the process. This product line is worth the extra money but it's hard to find in good pet stores or online! Read more
