When I first saw this in a store window, I said "That's impossible!" The Mova globe rotates with no apparent fulcrum or energy source, in seeming defiance of Newton's Third Law of Motion. Friends with a basic knowledge of high-school physics glance at it, and then do a double-take..."How can that possibly work?" Anyone working in a scientific environment should have one on their desk...it really is captivating and astonishing. Watching people trying to figure out how it works is half the fun!
The only drawback is that it's only about 4.5 inches in diameter, though I believe a larger one will soon be offered at a higher price. Read more

After ordering the first one, I liked it so much I ordered a second one! There's not much to this item at first glance. After all everyone has seen a globe, maybe even a spinning one. But this four-and-half-inch diameter globe smoothly and slowly turn as long as there is a reasonable light level. No external power, no batteries. It just goes and goes. I can't explain why is is so fascinating, but it is. A simple elegant design and Brookstone price is an exceptional bargain. Read more

This globe is simply a centerpiece to put on any table where people are most likely to see it. Its design is amazing. You hold the globe in your hands and the inside of it moves but your hand doesn't move at all. The other cool thing about the globe is that it requires no batteries or cords. It's a great "green" investment because it runs by solar power. I'd highly recommend this to anyone either for themselves and/or as a really unique gift. Read more

This is a generator of double-takes for the truly observant passers-by in the office. When people first notice it, it looks loke a nice little globe. THEN, they notice it's moving.... The minimal, clear acrylic stand allows a good view of what's NOT making it go. "Wow" and "Cool" are common reactions. Particularly careful visitors are offered a chance to hold it in their hands.... After something like "Awsome! It still moves!", I'm often asked where I got such a thing. I just say "Brookstone. Pretty neat, huh?" Read more
