I've been doing home laundry for 40 years and have gone through many washers and dryers. This is, hands down, the best washer I've ever had - cleans the cleanest, spins the driest, runs the most quietly over any top loader I've ever used. I'm in an apartment now and thought I had to compromise by buying this machine but it is so much more than I expected.
I'm a massage therapist and as a result have a constant flow of oil stained sheets to wash, sheets that eventually develop rancid oil smells that just get worse over time. This machine not only prevents that, it has removed the old odors and stains leaving everything clean and sweet.
The drying cycle does take a little getting used to - stuff it too full and you're not going to be happy. Learn its parameters and it's terrific. It is somewhat more wrinkle producing than normal driers, I think it's that 2 minute wait to open the door since I'm always right there to remove and prevent wrinkles but can't until the door will open. We have had this washer dryer combo for almost a year and we love it! People are always surprised when I tell them that it washes and dries. It cleans the clothes really well and has a great system for dispensing the soap, etc... The only downside that I see is that it is small and therefore takes a longer time to dry. Sometimes we have to run the dry cycle two or three times. Still, we would get it again in a second, as our only other alternative is to trudge up stairs outside to a communal laundry room which gets more expensive each time we use it. And, having a toddler makes for a lot of daily luandry. I highly recommend this product! Read more

I recently bought an older condo without washer/dryer hookups. Going to the laundromat is too much of a hassle for my busy lifestyle so I bought the LG washer/dryer.

The clothes come out really clean. I can pop in a load before work and have clean clothes when I get home, or throw my gym clothes in at night and they are ready to go in the morning. The unit operates so quietly I won't even wake me in the night. The cycles are long (2-5 hours depending on the size of the load). With such long cycles I was fearful of the electric bill, but I only saw a nominal increase in my monthly bill.

Now I'm remodeling my bathroom and building the unit under the counter. My trips to the laundromat are over.

This unit is great for a single person or a couple, but probably not ideal for a family or roommates. Read more

I had a choice...either put a mini-stack unit sitting out in plain view in my kitchen, or install one of these under a granite top and add cabinets above. I chose the latter and I'm extremely happy with my decision.

This thing cleans well, barely uses any detergent/softener/bleach, looks great, and is easy to use/clean/program. You can get a decent amount in it, about the same as a mini stack or half of a normal machine.

However, your clothes will probably come out wrinkled, especially cotton, if you don't grab them out right away. Large items like sheets...forget it, no way to stop the wrinkles. ..I have tried everything. It has sensors in the machine to sense how dry your stuff is...this can result in the long cycles others mention. I usually just time dry for 1-1.5 hours and that does the trick.

I wouldn't bet the house on the guy below who said he can sleep with this thing on. I have it in another room and down the hall about 20 feet and I can BARELY hear it,

I just bought this washer/dryer combo and had it installed today. I put in a load of darks and ran a normal load. Yes, it took about 4 hours to run the entire cycle, but my clothes came out super clean and bone dry. My recommendation is to fold your clothes immediately once the cycle finishes so you don't have a problem with wrinkles. This is true with any dryer.

I am totally impressed with the lights and digital readouts as this is technologically the best washer and/or dryer I have ever used...and I have had the top of the line Bosch appliances when I lived in Brazil. LG is a great product line. I think this is a great investment. Don't be fooled by negative reviews...they are written by impatient people who don't really understand technology. Run the cycle overnight or, like me, run it during the day while at work so it's ready when you are. It may cost a little more than traditional combos, but at least you don't have to transfer from one machine to another and it's perfect if y
