I used to design dishwashers for a competitor, Bosch was the standard for domestic kitchen dishwashers then and they still seem to be. While the Ascentia line is obviously a lower level with fewer features its far from a bare-bones model. It's quiet, it cleans well, it dries acceptably (always an issue with this type of design) and it was only a little more costly than the midrange models of the US Big Three appliance manufacturers. Those other dishwashers are mechanically the same as the cheapest models, just with a few more bells and whistles. I prefer the reliability and features of a stripped-down high end model like the Bosch Ascentia. Read more

If you do a little research, Bosch brand dishwashers have a much higher reliability/satisfaction rating both here and in Europe. And it's quiet (splashy water sounds) and uses less power than others, partly due to the fact that it DOES NOT HAVE THAT BIG HEATING/DRYING ELEMENT that you see in most washers that I used to turn off. So if you want 'baked dry' dishes, look elsewhere. My only CON is the racking system is a bit funky and seems small as noted elsewhere. OVERALL: Love it. Read more

This is my first dishwasher so I don't have much to compare it to. I have only had it for a week but let my tell you it doing at least 3 loads a day right now. I just getting everything put back to gather from the remodel so were washing everything. I cant believe how clean the dishes are its like new even the hard cooked on stuff is coming off. The unit is very easy to use, loading is a breeze, the only thing you need to watch it since the unit does not use as much water you dont use as much detergent. I love it I dont know how I lived with out a dishwasher for all these years. Read more

I bought this Bosch due to their fabulous reputation and I am happy about my choice. I cook a lot and will be using this dishwasher daily. The dishes come out crystal clear and spotless and the sound is very minimal. The only gripe at all is the lower rack doesnt allow for very tall items so I can work around that. The top rack allows more room than a typical dishwasher (hence the low height on the lower rack). It was easy to install, easy to operate and looks fantastic, all my friends want one! Nice washer. Door mechanism not quite as rigid as the higher priced Bosch washers - but - you really won't notice the door flex once installed properly in cabinet. Washes excellent - dried on food - day old - no problem. Great washer for the money - Bosch quality all the way. Works just as well as my parents [$] Bosch .. just missing a few bells and whistles - cycle coundown timer .. etc. Hey .. it's a diswasher ... not a video game .. anyway .. set and forget .. Would buy again ... hope this one lasts 15yrs ! Read more
