I love this!

I really like the extra smaller bowl and blade for lesser amounts--I use it for mincing garlic, chopping green onions, etc.

The motor is powerful enough that I recently shredded sweet potato for a soup recipe, something that would have jammed a machine with less power. I switched from Cuisinart (the old one was destroyed in Katrina) after reading reviews of their current line.

I think the 7 c capacity is quite adequate, but ours is a small household.

I highly recommend this model! Read more

This food processor works very well, and has a compact design that makes countertop storage realistic. Additionally, it has the safety feature of not working unless properly assembled. I find it to be reasonably quiet, strong, and large enough for me. The one thing I actively dislike about it is the difficulty in storing the (sharp) parts when not in use -- there is no particularly good way to store the extra bowl and blade, or the grater/shredder, and all I've been able to do is set aside one area of a cupboard for these accessories.

I find the shredder works well, and the entire unit is sturdy. Grating vegetables or cheese is easy (once you figure out which side of the blade to use), and grinding works well for tough things like soaked dried beans as well as soft doughs. The mini-bowl and its blade work well, with the only minor inconvenience being that sometimes a bit of the food makes its way into the larger bowl, requiring a rinse.

All in all, I've been pleased with my machine. Read more

Few of us can cook at a serious level without a food processor. This particular model received excellent ratings by America's Test Kitchen. But I found it underpowered. My main use of food processor is to make pasta...blending egg and flour. With this device, the motor stopped, and we had to wait several minutes for it to cool down enough to restart. I'm going to trade it in on a more powerful model.

for other uses: vegetables, mixing, this is a good buy. Read more

I own several Kitchenaid Products because of their durability, but the food proccessor is my favorite. It gets more use than any other small appliance I own due to its versatility. It's a fantastic cheese grater, and the slicing blade is perfect for cabbage when making coleslaw, or vegetables for soup. Puddings and mousses are a snap. It also works well for mixing pie crust and some doughs. The proccessor can also be a substitute blender if the contents don't contain too much liquid. An excellent long-lasting product that is worth the price. Read more

I bought this for my husband because he makes his own habenero salsa and was using a blender before. He loves it and I love it because the blender sounded like it was going to take off! Read more
