I have broken arches and some deformity of the ankles as a result, and the high top gives me added ankle support. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had and I'll continue wearing them as long as FILA makes them. I do have to add a Dr. Scholl's insert to cushion the pounding when I'm on a treadmill. I'm thinking about buying another a half-size larger so I can wear a thicker athletic sock with it. I actually wear these shoes as my dress shoes in addition to my gym and work shoes.
