The tool grips the inside of the pop-up riser well, and holds it in place while you remove, clean, and/or replace the sprinkler head. The service of Ace Hardware online and 800 number, however, sucks big time. I found several broken links on their web site. I even tried to cancel my order when their 1-800 rep couldn't tell me where the tool was after 7 days. The automated 800 line hung up on me twice before I was able to talk to the less-than-helpful rep. You can get this tool for about $8 at one of the major home hardware dealers. Since I live in a rural area, I didn't know that. I found that out when I had make an emergency 80-mile round trip to help my daughter. Read more
