The BW 8 mm 60 meter static rope is useful for all of the above mentioned activities (note: top rope climbing okay, BUT not leading as the rope is not dynamic). I use the rope for canyoneering in the slots of the Southwest. Has worked very well, light weight for long approaches, and does not suck up the water in the potholes of places like Zion. I would recommend that begginning rappellers consider a thicker rope (thus more friction in the system and a slower ride down) but anyone competent or with even a bit of rappelling experience can use this rope. As alwasy, be safe out there, have a plan and a back up and pay attention to the details. Have fun out there. Read more
