It's slim and elegant but can carry a lot of items, including a compact umbrella! The leather is high-quality and glossy, so it looks good with jeans or a nice dress. The wide zip-top and contrasting interior lining make it very easy to find stuff in your purse (and make bulky interior pockets unnecessary). These traits are all hallmarks of the Hobo International Milano collection, of which I'm a huge fan. Anyway, for years I have been thinking about buying the Lola in a different color, since I love my black one so much. When I saw the plum color this year and I just had to have it (purple is my favorite color and it's also in style this year). I like simple lines and nothing too fussy, and this purse is IT! The interior fabric color was not described, but it looked like a pink; it's actually red, and that's fine. The strap length is perfect and, for my needs, the one zippered interior pocket is sufficient. It's perfect for work, after-hours meetings/functions, and going out to a nice dinner. I don't use it on my days off because I dress more casually. If you're at all interested in this purse, I would give it some serious thought. (I've got a wallet, cell, blackberry, glasses case, keys, pens, a few makeup items, transit pass, and random receipts/lip gloss/etc., and it still zips up for safety during my commute.) I've had other larger Hobo purses, but was looking for a smaller one that I could use with a briefcase. I took a chance with the red color and am so glad I did - I get compliments all the time. Now I'm saving up for another color! (Note: If you have really long forearms or a thick coat, it might be a little awkward to pull it onto your shoulder with the same hand after holding just the straps. It is a part of Hobo's "Milano" collection and certainly has the elegant lines that would make it right at home in urban Italy. I have the purse, a wallet, checkbook cover and a cell purse in rouge--a wonderful red color that goes with anything. I move the cell purse from purse and it looks right at home. The detail and finish work on this purse are excellent. It is not a large purse but a nice in-between size that can carry essentials in it's slim cross-section. It is larger than the purse I routinely carry so it seems roomy to me. Several of my friends commented that this purse would be much too small for them. Also, one of my friends who is 5'8" with an ample bosom commented that the handles were too short for her and the purse hit at just the wrong place. I like the medium length handles that keep the purse comfortably tucked under my arm.
