I bought this because someone decided to spill milk on my sofa and not tell me until it dried and began to smell. If you've had milk spill onto fabric or your car, you know how horrible it smells and how hard it is to get rid of. Using this machines hand tool I was able to restore my sofa to new and got rid of the milk smell with one use. Since then its been used on the carpets, removing spots that wouldn't come out with my Hoover steam cleaner. It works really well on Berber carpet.Its also been used to detail our car, from the carpets in the car and the mats, restoring them to new and making the car smell great.I bought this at our local vacuum /sewing shop. I've been doing business with them for years and the owner assured me that not only was this a great unit, but it came with a 3 year warranty which it wouldn't unless it was a quality built machine.This unit comes with 3 tanks, one for the clean water, another to suck up the dirty water, and a sealed tank for your soap. I bought this cleaner to clean carpets that hadn't been done since they were laid 3 years ago. We have 2 dogs and the Royal 7910 did a fantastic job removing both the pet odors they have left behind and even got the excess dog hair out of the carpet that my vacuum has apparently been missing. It was also great at erasing the heavy traffic areas in the rooms I used it in, it pulled the carpet nap back up beautifully. My daughter recently bought her first home, and the previous owners said the carpets had just been cleaned. We cleaned them again using the Royal 7910 and got more dirt up, making the carpets look almost like new. The cleaner is very easy to put together, and is light enough that my 8 months pregnant daughter had no difficulty using the machine. There is plenty of shampoo that comes with the cleaner, and it leaves a nice, fresh, clean scent, and no sticky residue. The machine is, without a doubt,, the best carpet cleaner/extractor I have ever purchased. I've owned the Hoover and Bissell, 'top of the line' models'; and the Royal is superior to all. The motor is apparently larger than those in other machines; which is reflected in the amount of water extracted from the carpet. The first time I used the machine, I thought the trigger mechanism wasn't working, as it does not have much tolerance. However, after an examination, I discovered that the soap was being dispensed, despite the fact there was very little play in the trigger. I also discovered that the plug must be replaced in the dirty water receptacle in order to facilitate the suction required for optimum extraction. Once I learned the dynamics of each function, this machine has proven to be one of my best purchases. Read more

I purchased this steam cleaner because we recently got a new puppy and we have some light rugs in the house....I read all the comments and it seemd like it was a good choice...the cleaner not only did a fabulous job on the few "accidents" but also on the dust & dirt that blew in thru the screens (and we don't ever wear outdoor shoes in our house so I was amazed at what came out of the carpeting-this machine REALLY can find anything that's in there!!!) It's great if you need to roll over a spot quickly and it does dry fast, too! I've been telling anyone I know who has a dog (especially a puppy!!) that they should put this on their Xmas list! As the owners of pets who make their share of messes. We were glad to locate a machine that is relatively easy to opperate and does a good job of cleaning carpets and furniture. Assembly was easy, and the directions are complete enough to make operation of the cleaner easy. I would recomend that hot water be used in the cleaner and going over an area several times does produce better results. Since purchasing the machine it has cleaned my carpets and my mother's carpets and numerous chairs and cushions. Much better machine than the bissell that we had before. Only impovement would be a better upholstery tool (wider and with rotating brushes would do a better job) although the small size of this one worked really well in the car. I like the machine and it was cheaper than hiring a carpet cleaning company. Read more
