My 11 year old begged for one of these for his birthday after seeing it on Hannah Montana. I bought two, one for him and one for his brother. Even the 11 year old had a hard time loading the marshmallows into the tube. The tube itself is very thin plastic and has started to crack after only being used twice. Marshmallows must be brand new and allowed to dry out first so that they do not stick together or stick to the tube. Cleaning the tube of any sticky residue and drying it are nearly impossible. The tube must be dried completely before marshmallows are loaded or you will have another sticky mess. I had to resort to long pipe cleaners to dry the tube. Its a fun toy when its works, but save your money and stick with Nerf shooters which are equally entertaining and much less messy. Read more

I love this product and bought 4 of them as gifts. However, when we went to use them, i put the marshmallows out on the table to get them a little dried out before use like others had mentioned, but my kids couldn't wait! So they used it with the marshmallows and what a mess! The marshmallows stuck to each other in the tube and after a few times shooting, it was over. they couldn't get them out of the tube...they got stuck in the tube. Then they couldn't use the toy at all. Getting them out was unsuccessful. What a horrible mess and because they wouldn't work, the toy had no lasting appeal. They gave up! The next day, i was hoping that they would be tried up in the tube, making it easier to get them out, but NO! They were all mushed in the tube AND in the front of the "gun" where the marshmallows come out. No chance of using these again! Could have been fun, but just not with marshmallows! Read more

I got this item for my dad, who is a hunter, and he loved it. We had a whole Christmas Carnage fiasco that lasted till the wee hours of the morning. I also purchased other Marshmallow Shooter products for the rest of the boys, and now i have to purchase one for myself for protection. Some of the reviews talk about the marshmallows get stick...FYI, the pieces all come off for easy cleaning, it's got to be clean in order for the marshmallows to shoot. Average of 15ft distance, you can even load it just right so it will shoot up to 7 marshmallows at a time. DO NOT use older marshmallows that are sticky. We used "Fun Mallows" from Kraft for a fabulous flavor burst Read more

Super fun!

Once you get the "feel" for how to correctly prime one marshmallow at a time with the pump (don't pull the trigger too hard), and get the marshmallow on it's cylindrical side (versus standing up) into the barrel... it can shoot really far and is definitely worth it! It shoots so hard sometimes the marshmallows actually hurt, crazy I know.

I haven't tried using pellets instead of marshmallows, but I think it would perform even better... although sadly I'd have to be a good citizen and pick those up of the ground. =P

Camo IMO definitely looks cooler than the other colors. The only bad thing is that the barrel is not translucent like the blue/red color, so sometimes I can't tell if there is more than one marshmallow ready to fire.

If using marshmallows, make sure to clean/rinse the barrel often so the marshmallows continue to shoot far, otherwise they won't shoot right and/or will get jammed in there. Read more

Fun Gift

I bought these for our two boys who love to shoot pretend guns and though these would be fun since they shoot marshmallows. I dried out the marshmallows ahead of time so they would't get stuck in the chamber and that helped. The only downside to these that I see is that they take a litte more muscle than my four year old has to chamber and shoot a marshmallow. I didn't expect them to take strength, but they do. Daddy had a hard time getting the marshmallows to chamber and they only chamber about 50% of the time, but when they do the kids are fascinated by them.

So overall, a fun toy, as long as you have a little patience! Read more
