If you're looking at this product because you like the Onkyo 606 receiver but don't have thousands to spend on speakers, then I can wholeheartedly recommend this product to you. The speakers sound awesome with movies and games and pretty solid with music. The included ipod dock is a nice touch, though you should check which generation your ipod is and see if it's compatible. Also, the included dock does not have a video out so no video playback from your ipod is possible.

I wanted a setup that would be great for now and which I could upgrade the speakers later if I ever have the money for it. This set does the trick. I'm quite impressed with music clarity at higher volumes, though when the volume is in the medium and low ranges, the sound is not as impressive. The ipod dock is nice, but as expected, you get a lot better sound coming from a cd player via an optical input. I haven't tried more expensive rca cables for the ipod than it came with, that might make a bit of diffe

BEST HOME THEATER I'VE SEEN SO FAR, RECEIVER IS GREAT AUDIO QUALITY IS GOOD.LOVE IT, GOOD AUDIO BASE, A LOT OF FEATURES, LOUD. IT IS AWESOME.This system absolutely rocks. You get a great stand alone receiver with 4 hdmi inputs and more composite, component, and s-video inputs than you'll ever need. This system is a breeze to set up, the Audyssey equalizer set up is fantastic. It adjusts the audio levels to fit your rooms acoustics and speaker distances. The speakers are larger than you might think and really pack a punch. The powered sub is absolutely amazing. The picture frames on the walls of adjoining rooms actually shake during hi bass scenes. I recommend watching the new Rambo as your first movie. 7.1 DTS-MA and the.50 cal scene will blow you away. You'll think you're the gunner. The audio is fantastic especially for the price. Not to mention this systems sleek piano black finish is very slick. Read more

I ordered this system from b&h last week[...]Total setup time was between 60 and 90 mins. Depending on how tech savvy you are, it may take you a little less time or a little more. I hooked up a PlayStation 3 and Time Warner/Motorola cable box to the receiver via HDMI. The receiver is the Onkyo TX-SR606, a full featured receiver which blows away anything at a similar price point. From the receiver, the output is a single HDMI to a 46" SONY 46V4100 LCD which was also purchased from b&h. Through the HDMI, I am able to receive full surround sound from both the PS3 and the cable box. Additionally, the Onkyo remote control is able to control my cable dvr with zero setup required. Speaker setup took a little bit longer. The system includes front speaker stands, but no stands for the surround or rear speakers. You can wall mount those speakers, or purchase additional stands. The box includes speaker wire, but I found the wire to be cheaply made and too short for even the small room i

The System...The 7100 Is an awesome system. The Ipod Dock is an excellent feature but what sold me on the system was the HDMI Receiver. My old system was nice but No HDMI support so when I purchased my first LCD TV I had to watch everything via composite so my surround sound worked but I couldn't watch HD shows or movies to the best res.Comes packed well, Easy to set up, Configuration is a bit difficult but can be figured out. The system looks real niceIT HAS A DOWN FIRING SUBWOOFER WHICH FACES DOWN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CABINET AND HAS NOTHING COVERING IT, I WISH THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST PUT SOME CLOTH OVER IT.On screen setup is laid out nicely.Definatly Purchase this system from J&R if it in your price range!!!The Salesman...I called and ordered my system. I spoke with Leo. He has knowledge of the stuff he sells and is a very cool person.J&R...I had heard of Onkyo product for a few years now and always thought that they were way to expensive. J&R made this purchase possible though, th

This system is really good for the money. I had omeone install all the wires in the walls and hang speaker brackets for me so it was pretty much plug and play from there. The on screen menus could be more attractive but it really doesnt matter when sound is what your interested in. The remote was easy to program to my other home video equipment. The system calibrated itself with the use of a calibration mic, which was really neat. The sound quality is great. I use it to watch all my shows, bluerays from my ps3, games, dvds and mp3s. The sound is so great that my cats are always looking around when it is on because its so clear coming out of the different channels it sounds lifelike. Im even hearing people on the sets of the tv shows dropping things or talking in the background which I would otherwise never hear. Im very happy with my system. Coupled with my sony lcd hdtv and the blueray disks I feel like I dont even want to go to the movies now that I can enjoy them at what I feel is b
