I was very surprised by how good this cheese was. I don't know why my expectations were low for a Bavarian cheese (something I hadn't knowingly had before), but they were. Boy, was I surprised! The cheese has a very full-bodied flavor withour being particularly sharp or pungent. Both my wife and I really enjoyed this cheese quite a bit. I will have to start trying out more German cheese if this is any indication of their quality. Read more

I deliver Meals-On-Wheels and one "customer", a 97 year-old German gentleman with a love of cheese spoke of the best cheese he'd ever eaten, a "Bier Cheese" from Germany. He couldn't find any that wasn't made in Wisconsin. This is a full flavored cheese, with that rich appealing "stinky" aura. While full flavored, this is not an overpowering cheese, and will give all cheese lovers the satisfaction only a mature cheese can deliver. Room temperature is essential for full enjoyment. I love this cheese and am ordering more. With a smooth and creamy texture to it, it also has such a different flavor that goes well with anything and tastes wonderful on its' own. I've yet to try it as an after dinner cheese because I can't wait that long and dive into it with my wine. Read more
