I LOVE my Roomba's!

I bought two Roomba 562 Pet Series robots, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. I hate lugging the vacuum cleaner around the house, and we have too much furniture and "things" on the floors, so vacuuming is a REAL chore. My Roomba's are a blessing.

I live in an old house where electrical outlets are a rarity and we have to use extension cords and power strips everywhere. I don't have optimal spaces for the docking stations, but so far it's working pretty well. Roomba 1 has a little trouble getting out of and into its space sometimes because it's tucked into a corner.

I have not yet programmed a schedule, because it's simple to decide when Roomba should work and punch its button, so that particular feature is not so important to me.

I'm also not overly concerned about Roomba's inability to vacuum in the small spaces because it's just so nice to have the main floor clean with not too much effort. You do need to clean the brushes, bearings and especially the spindles fairl

I have pet-sitted on a regular basis for a household who own a Roomba Pet Series and I will say that it created more work for me than any regular vacuum would have. While I did like that during my stay, I did not have to vaccum for the 5 pets in the house (including my own), it did end up creating a lot of stress for me.

I came home, after the Roomba had done its work on day (it was automatically programed to clean at a certain time) and I realized that one of the dogs had pooped in the house. When the Roomba ran over the poop, it not only sucked it up and got it all over its inner parts, but it grinded the poop into its wheels and then spread it all over the house. By the time I got home, the trails of poop had dried. I ended up going through 2 rolls of paper towels and spending over 2 hours scrubbing the hardwood floors with a stiff brush to get it all up. Then I spend another hour attempting to get the Roomba cleaned, although I would not say it was ever sanitized. After th

It would be nice to believe that the 562 Pet Series Roomba had been specially designed for dealing with pet hair, but unfortunately this is not the case. Pet hair is actually the 562's nemesis. If you use the 562 to vacuum any room that has pet hair, it will either jam part way through cleaning or accumulate so much hair that it will jam the next time you run it.

The first time I used the 562 it stopped and requested its brushes be cleaned 3 times before it finished cleaning a small room. I figured this was a rather extreme test because the room hadn't been vacuumed for a week and the 562 would be more successful with more regular use. Unfortunately, it had the same problem the next day. Over a week of use, the 562 required about 10 minutes of careful cleaning each and every time I used it. This wasn't just a case of emptying the bin, but involved removing hair that had wrapped around the ends of the bristle and flexible brushes, carefully extracting hair that had been sucked into t

I've only had the 562 for one week but love it. I can't believe how efficient it is. I work many hours and have 3 cats-indoor. They shed and make messes. I did clean excessively the day before I received the roomba. I have 4 large rooms of sealed hardwood flooring and 2 bathrooms (tile and linoleum). Since I have absorbed my recently late Mother's household, my 2 carpeted rooms are full of bags and boxes so I don't attempt to let it in those yet.. The 562 can handle 4 large rooms plus one bathroom without going back to home base. Cats are still stalking it...but they will adapt. I think I now feel comfortable with letting it run while I'm at work. The only thing I have to do is run a wet mop over the areas the roomba has covered with a little hardood floor spray and it looks absolutely perfect, shiny and clean. I can't say enough about how this has actually changed my attitude. Mom's passing was depressing and I let my floors go. This innovation has allowed me to feel good about going

Once I got my rooms properly "robot proofed," I fell in love with the Roomba. Two Corgis who lose absolute tumbleweeds of fur every minute of every day are hard to keep up with, so I have the Roomba set to do the main rooms at night, then I move her around during the day to my bedroom, bathroom, etc. She does a great job, if I use her daily/every other day -- not a hair in sight! However, I do have to: 1) proof the rooms by looping wires out of the way, moving dog beds and some smaller chairs and mats out of the way. She's also too high to fit under my couch; 2) Clean out the bin after each room is cleaned -- so I clean her out in the AM, then again after I've moved her from room to room. Not a big deal, really -- and better than lugging out the vacuum every day! And, I should add, the clean out is easy -- the way the brushes, bins and wheels pop right out make it very easy to pull out the dog hair that can block the intake area and/or get wrapped around the brush and wheel axles
