This review is a bit lengthy but worth the time. I have been in the Marine Corps for 16 years now. I have worn many different brands of shoes, paying very little for each pair, thinking that the shoes I wore didn't matter. I also have a serious overpronating problem when I run. People always told me I needed a different type of shoe or my knees would regret it later. Guess what, I do. I went shoe shopping and the salesman introduced me to the Brooks Addiction 7 shoe. From the moment I put the shoes on I could tell the difference. The first time I ran in them it didn't even feel like I was wearing shoes on my feet. They have even corrected the overpronating problem that I had and my knees don't bother me when I run now. With the other shoes I had I would wear the heel part of the soles off in about 2 months. With the Brooks shoes I have had, for over a year now, there is hardly any wear on them (and I even run more now than before). I will never buy another running shoe as lo

I really enjoy these shoes. I overpronate and have ITBS, it has never bothered me until I really started training for the fire academy. These shoes have helped me with my lateral knee pain. Although the real key is strengthening the legs. I read the reviews online and read a lot of good things about these shoes as well as the Brooks brand in general. I will buy these shoes again as I am happy with them, overall best shoes I have ever purchased! Read more

I buy these and wear them on the recommendation of a podiatrist, who says that length of shoe relative to length of arch is more important than fitting length to toe. Seems he is right. I also have the double E. I have a pronation problem and wearing these shoes, with a custom orthotic, has corrected the pronation enough that my chronic knee pain has gone away -- it comes back as soon as I wear a different shoe for a day or two though. Read more

My 7 year old son kept complaining about his feet hurting. Took him to "If the Shoe Fits" in Frederick MD. They checked his feet and we found he has "Fred Flintstone Feet". They are flat and straight, like a box. They put him in this shoe and there hasn't been a complaint since. I search for a good price and always order a half size ahead of what he is wearing. This is the fourth pair I have ordered. I have been wearing Brook shoes for years and I always found them very comfortable. However, the current style trend seems to be the use of mesh material that allows dirt to infuse itself into the top front portion of the shoe. I find this very annoying as the dirt eventually permeates into the shoe. I would have rated this shoe higher were it not for the mesh. Read more
