This stuff is awesome. Yes, it makes a mess, but I guess I expected that. So does lots of other toys out there. It still took less than 5 minutes to clean up after my sons were done playing with it without taking any precautions to contain the mess. We have no problem with molding the sand. You just have to make sure you compact it completely and there is no issue (like the directions tell you to do). The carrying case is really cool and great to store all of the sand and accessories in. They could give you a little more sand, but because I read the reviews first, I picked up some extra before letting my sons (age 4) play with it and there wasn't an issue. They aren't interested in building the big castles and buildings like the commercial and advertisements, so we haven't tried any huge things. I don't see it being an issue with how compacted this stuff gets when done correctly. We have used the molds to make the buildings and it comes out perfectly hard and easy move. My husband lo

Ugh, this stuff is a mess and a waste of money. It doesn't stick together at all, even if you squeeze it in your hands as the directions say to do. My son was very frustrated, because it would rarely mold into shapes and when it did, it would crumble apart. It's like trying to make a snowball with snow that is too soft to stick. We even tried adding a small amount of water, but it made even a bigger mess. It gets everywhere and is NOT easy to clean up like they claim. The molds and carry case it came with are great, though, and you can use these with Play-Doh. And avoid the mess and frustration! Read more

MY 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS PLAYED WITH THIS STUFF EVERYDAY AND I MEAN EVERYDAY FOR A YEAR NOW!!! IT KEEPS HER BUSY FOR ABOUT AN HOUR EACH TIME SHE PLAYS WITH IT, YES IT CAN BE ALITTLE MESSY, BUT WHO CARES ASLONG AS THE KIDS ARE HAVING FUN THATS ALL THAT MATTERS! HAVE YOU SON OR DAUGHTER PLAY WITH IT AT THE KITCHEN TABLE OR ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR WHERE IT IS EASY TO CLEAN UP. ITS THE BEST STUFF THAT I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. EVEN THE ADULTS WILL SIT WITH HER AND PLAY WITH IT WHEN WE HAVE GET TOGETHERS. Read more

We love Moon Sand! My two older girls, ages 6 and almost 4, love this stuff! We bought them some last year and got three more sets this year. Sure, it's messy, but they're kids...EVERYTHING is messy! :o) I have to admit, I love playing with it with them. We use household things too, like paper cups, plastic spoons and forks, anything we can find to create different shapes and textures. We will definitely buy Moon Sand again and I recommend it to anyone with a vacuum or broom (because you will need it!) Read more

Moon sand is great if you know how to use it. You have to use the molds. You can't move it around like play doe. It's nice that it will not dry out and most of all it will not get stuck in the carpet. It's realy easy to clean up. Read more
