This is the greatest little vacuum cleaner I've ever had, and I can't believe the power. With two Jack Russells running around I never dreamed they shed that much. I vacuumed with my regular older eureka machine and then used this and couldn't believe all the extra hair & dirt that was removed. After that I have been vacuuming every couple of days and it picks up everything and my carpet is so much cleaner as well as the musky smell has gone away. I love this machine and it is well worth the money, especially if you have pets. The only thing is it can get a little messy when you are emptying the container and pound the dirt out of the filer, so be careful to be over the trash can completely. If you don't watch it it will suck the carpet off the floor. The first time I used it I realized that my old vaccumn cleaner did not get the dirt off the carpet but this Dirt Devil is a Devil. It can suck dirt inches away. I was cautious about getting the Dirt Devil because I have always had a Bissel but let me tell you sometimes it's good to try something different. I am happy. Read more

I have only had this a short time, but am very pleased so far. I had a Bissell prior and did not realize that it did not work well until I used this one and could actually see the dirt that came out of my carpet. We vacuum 3-4 times a week and I do not have a high traffic household. The pets stay outside except in the evening. The amount of dirt that came from my livingroom when I used this product stunned me. I had thought my old vacuum work well, and it did not. My allergies have gotten so much better since I started using the Dirt Devil. I will buy this manufacturer in the future. Read more

I do a lot of sewing, so there are a lot of threads and scraps of fabric, paper from patterns and such in my sewing area. This upright does a really great job of keeping the floor clean. Also my sewing room is in the basement.There are several types of carpet peices covering the floor. It does a great job on all of them. I have already reccommended to several people. Read more

Excellent vacuum! I have a rug in my living room that just never came clean. Not even my sister's high dollar model would clean it. Well, it's clean now after using this vacuum. Only thing I don't like about it is it's very noisy. But for the performance it's a small price to pay. Read more
