Great Tires

I do a lot of long solo rides and was looking for a tire that wouldn't leave me stranded. I've put about 2000 miles on my current set and rotate them every 500 miles. I've not had a flat since I bought my Hutchinson Fusion 2's and they still look like new even though I figure it's time to replace them. An added benefit for me is that they provide a very comfortable ride which I appreciate. I don't race but the cornering feels good to me. You can get them on and off the rims with just your hands. I'd recommend them. Read more

It's the right tire for me!

First, it's important to choose the right tire for your weight and terrain. I'm 156lbs, I ride on clean suburban roads and busy city streets. I race criteriums, duathlons, and sprint triathlons. Tire weight, acceleration, rolling resistance, and cornering traction are important to me. I have two sets of these tires currently and I've used Hutchinson tires built like these for years. I rotate the training set every 500 miles. I use a set for training and a set on my racing wheels. I'm totally satisfied. I usually get 2500 to 2800 miles per set. Only tubular tires give me a better feel. I only wish they could make them even lighter! Read more

An excellent all-around clincher

A set of these Hutchinson tires came on my Scott Addict and so I rode them. Ive always been a Michelin, Specialized, and Conti tire fan, but since they came with my new rig I figured Id see how they road. The most impressive factor of these tires is their wear, grip, and puncture resistance. Ive logged a few thousand miles on them with minimal flats (cant remember if Ive actually gotten a flat or not) and supreme confidence on descents. Theyre not quite as sticky as an open tubular or a race specific tire, so dont think youre getting that level of grip. By giving a little in the grip area, you gain a lot in flat protection; this is right up there with the Gatorskins or a Specialized Armadillo Elite. Ive finished rides and pulled out lodged pieces of glass from the tire on multiple occasions, without a flat occurring. An excellent, high-end all-around clincher tire. Read more

First thing I noticed when switching from Michelin Pro Race 2 tires to these is the increased rolling resistance. They're slower for sure. Unfortunately they're not much more comfortable. They do grip and corner well, and I didn't have any problems in the rain w/them. And they're durable. I rode these tires for about 1500 miles and didn't have any flats.
So all around these are great training tires since they grip well and don't flat. But for such hard riding tires I'd expect them to be faster. Read more

just after 50miles on this one, I had a blister on the sidewall and the tube was hemorrhaging out the side. Never seen that happen on any other tire I've used the past 12 years of cycling. Wanted to believe in these tires (great grip, low resistance), but doesn't instill confidence when a catastrophic failure occurs after less than 100miles. Read more
