First, let me say that I bought this bike as a replacement for a Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike that I've owned for around ten years. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Hard Rock, except that it was getting uncomfortable to ride long distances because of leaning forward so much. (I primarily ride on neighborhood streets and through subdivisions.) I will hand it down to my daughter and I'm sure she'll get plenty more years of enjoyment from it.

I test drove the Crossroads Sport along with several other manufacturer's versions of comfort or hybrid bikes, and this one is without a doubt the most comfortable riding bike of them all. The sitting position allows you to remain more erect in the seat, and the shock absorbers in the seat and front fork work really great to keep the tush from getting sore on those long treks. The brakes work extremely well, and gear shifting is a breeze. If you're looking for a comfortable ride that will allow you some distance without hurting

It has been more than 10 years since i wandered in the [...] store on Harrison near Clark and went home with a huge beautiful bike. So, wandering into [...] new location had me lost and wondering just what to purchase again for a tall female cyclist who is now the proud owner of a a.a.r.p. card.I pulled a Giant from the rack and was surprised that the 23 inch frame was more than large enough to work well with my 76 inch frame and 36 inch inseam. One of the helpful salesmen came over and answered a few questions and informed me that they were building an XL or what is billed as a 21 inch frame in this model. He explained the differences and i am glad he did because when they rolled this one out i could see it was the perfect size and style for me, complete with all the fab perks one could ask for in a bike. The ride is fab, and the controls work marvelously. The seat is comfortable as well btw.If you are tall, do not let the 21 inch frame size fool you on this one, it is more than en

I bought a Specialized Crossroads Sport from [...] two years ago and it has been great. The price was right and it's been a very reliable bike. I commute and run errands around town at least three days a week and it hasn't missed a beat. I'm a woman over 50 years old and I wasn't looking for a fancy racing bike or a stump jumper. I just wanted something that was comfortable, stable and easy to maintain. The Crossroads has been all that and more. Read more

Specialized has a keeper here. The difference between our old Wally World bikes and our Crossroads is very obvious the minute you sit down and start pedaling. S-M-O-O-T-H and Easy Pedaling. My Wife and I got a pair of these after putting around 900 miles on our other bikes. Our old average speed was 7.5 mph. Our new avg is 9.5 mph (on a short bike trail in town). The components are so much better, that now my wife changes gears. The other bikes had cheap comp's. Brakes are awesome, stop on a dime smoothly and quietly. Everyone who has ridden our new bikes are amazed. The tires have a 100 P.S.I. rating (max.), and I keep 75- 80 in them for easy rolling. I'm really glad I made the decision to buy Specialized, as our dealer will take good care of us. Specialized = Quality. I was hesitant to look at a bike with a 21 inch frame which is what the xl is. I am a 76 inch tall female and most of that legs.

But the xl is perfect for my height.

Don't let that 21 inch spec fool you if you're tall, this is a large beautiful bike.

I usually try to bike between 20 to 200 miles a week, depending on what my busy schedule allows.

I also wanted a bike to be comfy on with a lower back that used to be better.

This bike affords me all of that.

If comfort and beautiful performance is what you want in a bike, this is a beauty. Read more
