We have this bike in 12", 16" and 20" and the problem is the same with the 16 and 20...the chain ring is so small that our kids can't pedal fast enough to keep up on the bike path with their friends who have [...]bikes. Great bike, but...

This bike is great for a kid that wants to ride around the neighborhood but it just isn't made for taking on singletrack. It is far too heavy and with the lack of gears even slight grades become too much for kids sized to this bike. I'm going to be picking up an MT 60 with the 6 spd cassette so that my son's riding will be more enjoyable with less dismounting and more riding. Read more

Tired of the Costco Superman bikes that my son could hardly ride. We wanted to get him a decent bike and I must say the child flies on this thing. Fantastic brakes for him as well, both the coaster and hand brake. It by far exceeded our expectations. Him and I went on close to a 2 mile ride his first day with it with no problem. He did fantastic. Can't wait for the training wheels to come off. Now the only problem is that's all he wants to do. Dad's getting worn out.... Great product. Your child will love it. Read more

* The frame height allows for shorter inseam, but the 20 inch wheel base allows for the child to grow with the bike and continue to get use. * I had the pedal break replaced with a free pedal so that my son could adjust the pedals easily when starting out. I had them add another hand break for good measure. This made a HUGE difference in his ability to ride without assistance starting out. * This bike is heavy, but the tradeoff is that it is a freaking tank. My son immediately commented on how he liked the styling of the bike and was very detailed in his descriptions of why (down to the black kickstand). The only improvement that could be made in his opinion is if it would come in red. • Great Value for a great looking, good performing bike. Read more
