Six-year-old Hannah's TREK MT60 is very well thought out, designed and manufactured bicycle. Last Sunday we just took the training wheels off her cheap 16" bicycle and simply rode like a pro even though it is not a very good bike. So one week later we went bike shopping all day long. [...] Hannah immediately rode the MT60 like she was born to cycle. One week later, she's taking rides through the neighborhood with her Dad and making some very impressive maneuvers. I am teaching her everything I know about cycling but she has dropped it a couple of times. The MT60 is so lightweight, she just picks it back up and takes off. It has no damage after several drops. Fortunately, she has had no injuries or scrapes. I can't tell you how much of this should be attributed to her innate cycling prowess or the TREK MT60, but we are so happy that we spent the extra [$]. Though I am teaching her how to properly take care of the bike, it is evident that this bike will endure her rugged use for

I bought this bike for my 7 year old daughter when she learned to ride without training wheels. The difference between this and her Disney "toy" bike is amazing. Not only is it extremely well built but it also operates very effortlessly. It has inspired confidence that has allowed her progress in her riding very quickly. I'm going to buy another for my 6 year old as she too has lost the training wheels and comparing the two its obvious how the toy bike works against her efforts. Its a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Read more

Compared to department store bikes, this is a bit pricey, but the quality is there. 6 yr old daughter outgrew her 16" wheel bike, bought this and she just fits it, so she'll be able to ride this for a few years. Adjustable crank arm length is great for this. One downside is shifting to easier gears is a bit difficult for my daughter, but hopefully that won't be an issue next year. Read more

I have had a 2004 Trek MT60 for almost three years. I got it for my seventh birthday. I can still ride it because I can make the seat high. It's the best bike I have ever gotten so far. It holds up really well. I ride it so much that I ride it in the winter, too. Read more

I bought this for my 5-year old 2 years ago, who was big for his age. A few months back I re-adjusted the handlebars and moved the pedals out to the end of the cranks (great idea, by the way), and Jack had a new bike. I thought [$] was a bit crazy to spend on a bike for a fast-growing kid, but I realize now that it was truly money well spent! Read more
