This doesn't look like much of a camelback at just over 50 oz, but that's the beauty of it. Cinch the straps tight until the pack is just about touching your arm pits, and then tighten and move down the chest strap to get the arm straps to come down and tight. Now, you're ready for trail running through just about any terrain you can think of, with all the weight of your fluids and fuel sitting securely on the top half of your back. Be prepared though to have to increase your flexiblity to get fuel out of the pockets or even take it off. I can't recommend this for biking, but this pack is better than any other camelback or waitpack for running free and fast. Read more

I love using a CamelBak instead of water bottles. It is much easier to hydrate yourself! This is definitely for road cycling because there is no waste strap to keep the pack from 'jumping' when you hit a bump, but this is no issue on the road. This is no substitute for a wedgepack, but is the best compliment for your road adventure. It is easy to refill on your pit stop on a hot day, and has a small enough profile on your back to not be a bother. Read more

Have used this for casual road biking. The bright color is very good for low light visibility and just enough pack for a short outing. Probably not enough capacity for extended outings but perfect for an hour or two on the road or out hiking. One small inner pocket enough for a cell phone or snack and one larger external pocket big enough for keys and maybe a very light jacket. Read more

I find that I drink more frequently and take in a much larger volume of water than I would from the same size water bottle. It just makes drinking easier and combined with water bottles increases water supply for long, hot rides. I have not tried it yet but you can fill it with ice and use it to cool you on a hot day and then drink the water when it melts. Be careful not to run out because you cannot see the amount left(can tell somewhat by weight resting on your back) and you will take in much more water than from a water bottle until you get used to it. Read more

I used this product yesterday for the first time. I've been using CamelBak products since they started making them and I'm a big fan of hydration packs. I bought this one for use when inline skating and road biking. I used it yesterday while inline skating. Now I'm a big guy but short, with a wide chest. I found the pack set up well for my frame - it rode high on my back and breathed well. There was plenty of extension in the straps and the elastic at the bottom was a thoughtful touch that added a bit of tension to the straps. I found the sternum strap rode a bit high on my chest. I also needed an extra tube keeper on the sternum strap to keep the drink tube from flopping around while my arms swing. The velcro cord keepers also rubbed against the inside of my arms so I left the excess fully extended and wrapped the velcro around the lowest part of the straps. There really isn't much room for gear. There wasn't enough room for my cellphone moto Q and my digital camera in the
