After a couple of weeks of use, this shredder works great as long as you oil it every time you empty the bin. Because it's a confetti shredder, I would highly recommend getting bags to put in the bin. Particularly if you are going to shred credit cards or CDs/DVDs as they really make a mess. Bags just make emptying the bin a whole lot easier and cleaner process. I was also told by our recycling company to use separate bags for credit cards, CDs and DVDs from paper so that they can separate things easier. We replaced a strip shredder with this unit and I feel much more secure now that I have a confetti shredder. This shredder is fine for anyone that wants to securely destroy documents, credit cards, CDs and DVDs. However, the confetti is not sized to meet government security shredding standards, so if you need to meet those standards, this shredder is not for you. Read more

I love putting the whole piece of mail, envelope, contents, everything right into the shredder. I was shredding some old checkbooks and it took care of them without even hesitating. That's a complete, full checkbook with the binding attached, and you could barely hear the machine work, just a hum of happy shredding. Makes shredding so easy. Read more

Ok I admit, I do not keep up with things the way I should, so I tend to have several years worth of stuff to shred at a time & blew out my last shredder. I was hesitant to spend too much on a new one, as I was afraid I would do the same thing to it, but I bit the bullet & bought this shredder. I needn't have worried-- it's awesome-- I must've shredded about 7 years of old bills, recpts etc, with no problem whatsoever. I was able to start off the new year with a clean slate!! The fact that it's on wheels makes it easy to roll out of the closet and take care of stuff more often-- it was so liberating to get rid of the shoeboxes full of backlog! :) Read more
