I decided to go with this system after looking at several, and I am really blown away by the sound. I have this connected to a Blu-Ray player and I couldn't be happier by how well this system takes advantage of Blu-Ray's advanced sound capabilities. The only downside I can think of is the size of the speakers and the subwoofer (which really isn't horrible--just rather large.) I was worried about spending so much money on this (due to my budget) but I'm pleased to say it is well worth the money. I don't regret the purchase at all! Have had this unit for about a month now and am lovin' it. The bass is awesome. Clarity of all the sounds are great. Am using the 7.1 surround and at times I can't tell if the sounds are from the Onkyo or something else it's so realistic. I actually picked up the phone to answer it because I thought it was ringing but it was on TV. The actual setup was fairly easy but there are tons of adjustments for a variety of things, so add a learning curve to fine tune this unit. The remote is sometimes awkward to use but not a deal breaker. I was going to get the HT-S6100 but glad I spent the extra money for the 9100THX system.[...]I'd buy from them again. One more thing ... buy decent cables for whatever you hook up to it. I tried some cheap HDMI cables and regret it. Read more

Aside from the bulky speakers, this is an awesome product at this price range. Excellent sound quality for HTIB. Faithfully reproduces everything from music, to movies, to video games. Great surround sound accuracy/immersion. The Audyssey EQ microphone makes for quick calibration. It provides an On Screen Display to help considerably ease the component to receiver setup. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about a true home theater experience with budget constrains. Read more
