This product is one of the worst tracking units in the market!!! The first unit I purchased was defective. Then the customer service, which is not based in America, continually had difficulty communicating with the device. The Zoombak has MONTHLY FEES, and can only track every 5 minutes for an hour. Therefore, it will not record continuously throughout the day. The battery life is weak at best, and overall the unit is of low quality. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY EMPLOYERS WHO WANT TO TRACK EMPLOYEES!!!...Also, I am an ACTUAL CONSUMER, unlike the rest of these people who commented, VERIFIED BUYER!!!! I'm in the process of testing this unit during the 30 day trial. This is to track my mentally retarded daughter during school days. I like that it is inexpensive, but along with the low cost comes low performance. The zone reporting feature is virtually useless because the unit must be pinged while in the zone and if you arrive in the zone and immediately go indoors (out of GPS range) without it being pinged, it won't send a report. Since Zoombak only pings every 15 minutes, this is easy to do. When my daughter's school bus arrives and leaves school, it has only seen her once in 8 trials. I like that you can ping the unit from any cell phone and get a text message with the address (if it can find the unit). Trying to ping the unit frequently (less than 5 minutes apart) gives unable to locate message. So locating isn't truly unlimited and the continuos tracking feature (limited to 1 hour at 5 min pinging intervals) is quirky and not real time (about 5 min late). It would be good f … Read more

CAVEAT EMPTOR!!! This is the bleeding edge of technology... Bought the unit after seeing David Pogue video review on nytimes website and a push to go to Radio Shack.com for 3 free months of service. Little good that does when the unit is flaky at best and eventually failed after one day. The technology is there, the equipment and their web interface network is flaky. Now I have to send it back to RadioShack.com for a refund! Customer Service farmed out to Costa Rica (Muy MAL). Company can't handle the number of customer service calls (queue is long if not agonizing). Corp Hdqts of company phone number hidden from public (they don't want to hear all the flack). They use T-Mobile GPRS network for communications. The tracking feature only works for an hour (that sucks big time) and lastly, the website, location feature didn't work well when I know I was in T-mobile service (tower over my house!) what a great easy to use & low cost tool for small business owners or for those needing a little extra info concerning less than honest individuals in you life. I simply charged it for the 6 hrs recommended, turned it on, placed it outside in gps range , logged on to web site, took all of ten minutes to get up and running with service plan, and installed in vehicles. Logged on to check status of device and bang there it was plain as day. Great maps info on speed, and location alerts to cell phone or email. My only complaint is the battery once charged does not hold up as long as five days - usually only 2 in hot climates. I'd recommend getting the car installation tool..otherwise it's a really great product for the money. I plan on buying more for my small business to put into trailers, etc. for loss prevention/ recovery tools. Read more
