I waited a long time to get a dishwasher. I was very pleased from the first load.The entire process was very easy to understand. The instructions said that one doesn't need to prerinse.So I tested that notion. The appliance washed everything to 100%clean. After that I tried a pan with burnt on food. It came out almost clean and it took 5 seconds for me to fininsh the job by hand. My only criticism is that as easy as it is to pull out, it would be easier if there were some type of handle to grasp onto. Read more

I was a bit skeptical to purchase a portable dishwasher. Although this may age me just a bit . . . portable/convertible dishwashers in the past just simply did not clean the dishes - unless of course, you "rinsed" (washed) them first. Dishwashers have come a long way . . . this Maytag convertible/portable dishwasher is absolutely awesome! It is as quiet or quieter than ANY built-in (or portable). It is incredibly easy to maneuver in the kitchen (could use a handle though which is my only recommendation). The appearance is an enhancement to the kitchen itself (and that is often times difficult to do in a rental home). Most importantly, it cleans better than any dishwasher I have owned (and that's several decades . . . aging again!) And, because it is convertible, it is just what I needed during the rental period while I save for my home to be built. I recently bought a house that, to my disappointment, didn't have a dishwasher. After browsing around at the portable models (my kitchen isn't small, but cabinet space is limited and i didn't feel i could sacrifice any), i decided on this Maytag. It wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive model, it looked like it had good features and the reviews were mostly positive. I ordered it online on a Thursday, and stopped washing my dishes in anticipation of its arrival. I didn't rinse or prewash anything, and i only scraped off the large scraps of food. It arrived the following Thursday and i immediately loaded it with my yucky week's worth of crusty dishes. Before i went to bed, I selected the normal cycle, and let it go. What a great machine! The only thing that didn't come clean was a slotted spatula with egg dried into the slot (a small thing to wash off). Everything rinsed clean, with no food dust redeposited on the glasses. After two years of handwashing dishes in our rental home we decided to buy this portable dishwasher. It was ready to go right out of the box and all the hoses and cords were already installed. I had let my dishes sit for two days and loaded them unrinsed directly into the washer. Everything came out sparkling clean, even a baking dish with two day old baked on pasta sauce. It was amazing! I do not think it is loud and I've had no trouble with leaks or water not draining. I love this dishwasher! Just do not buy the installation kit and power cord that automaticly get put in your cart, everything you need is included. Read more

I just bought this dishwasher and I am not too impressed with it. The directions say you don't have to prerinse your dishes, but I didn't want to take a chance. I do prerinse. Still it doesn't get off everything. After each load I check for dirty items that I will have to rewash by hand. Also the dishes do not dry on the heat dry cycle. I won't bother wasting the energy for that anymore. Since I have to check each dish for cleanliness I might as well dry them by hand. The connection hose and power cord are short so you really have to have this thing right up against your sink. And my model leaves water in the bottom (because the pump have to stay submerged) so if you move it a little too fast you might spill water all over your floor. So after every move check for water on the floor. Particularly if you have wood floors. And the water it leaves in the bottom sure looks filthy. I am afraid if I don't run it everyday there is going to be some cooties growing in there.... eww … Read more
