If I make a pot of coffee, I'll end up consuming too much of it. This device brews a great-tasting, piping hot beverage. A second cup is usually all I really want, so no tempation to grab the big carafe and keep guzzling. Great for loose tea also; brew as directed, then sink the mesh liner directly in the cup to steep an additional minute. I use cheap standard-size pleated paper filters in place of the mesh basket to obtain a nice clear brew; just press one into shape in the hard 'shell' basket. Only gripe is my favorite stoneware mug won't fit; the plain 10-oz Corelle mugs are a perfect fit though. Read more

Makes an excellent 12 oz. cup of coffee in under 3 minutes. Never needs filters. Takes up very little space on your counter. I wish it came in black. To the reveiwer who complained that it didn't work with coffee pods....... Coffee pods are for soaking like a tea bag you knucklehead. This uses ground coffee and makes a great fresh cup and the reusable filter is easy to clean out. A++++. Read more
