For those who give good reviews about this Whirlpool washer Duet Sport, I was wondering how long they have owned it…..I wish them the best of luck. I have searched a few websites and I found so many people with bad experience with this particular washer and I was one of them.

I thought it was my bad luck to get a ‘lemon’ washer but I guess I am not. Do NOT buy Whirlpool Duet Sport WFW8300S . I had it for a little over a year and it only took two washes to break it. Of course, I did not think to get extended warranty because I did not expect it will break so fast - so if you still want to buy it, make sure you get extended warranty with the option to replace your washer because there is a chance that it will not be fixable.

When I called Whirlpool to fix my washer, they will certainly direct you to A&E Factory Service. DO NOT let them fix your appliances. They have less than desirable service. If you can find other service companies, I strongly suggest to use them.

transmisson in our 30 year old norge finally retired itself. got this new fangled duet 8400. also the matching 8300 el. drier. the 27 inch width will fit most doorways if you have a older home. the 6 point suspension seperates this unit from the rest. its a smooth runner so you can use it on the second floor. it will not rattle the china cabnet like some other brands. uses 65% less water so it needs he soap. all the dirt is concentrated in 45% of the water . the he soap takes care of it. it can heat water to 153o to kill bed mites and flu germs. so far this machine works fantastic. but will it outlast a NORGE? next im going to buy a new fangled color tv. cant buy tubes for my 12" ADMIRAL Read more

This washer has replaced my old Maytag. At first I was so sorry I had no way of washing my clothing when the washer broke. After purchasing this Whirlpool front-loader, I only wish the old one had bit the dust long ago. This front-loader is not only saving water and energy, it runs so quietly (as smooth as a kitten purrs), my husband had to comment on it. He used to run upstairs everytime I began a load with the old washer. Now, he can take a nap while I'm operating it. I used to dread laundry day, now I can't wait to find something to launder. It's like I'm on the hunt for dirty clothing. I love it efficiency. It's the best thing sense sliced bread. Thanks for carrying this brand in your store and at such an affordable price. It's time saving with the drawer for detergent, softner and bleach, with all the multi-tasking that I like to do I can accomplish so much more without having to run to add the bleach and/or softner. Great product. I have plans to recommend it to all my girlfriend

I am not going to bore you with all of the complicated terms you usually find with most appliance reviews, I'm going to simply give you the opinion of a stay-at-home mom and housewife.
I chose the Whirlpool Duet Sport because of the cost, the fact that it has an Energy Star rating and I heard it was a good, quality washing machine (and my old washing machine had bitten the dust) I assumed this new machine would get the job done, but I had no idea the surprises I was in for!
This machine has many different cycles to choose from. They are clearly marked, easy to set and easy to understand. Some examples are "Heavy Duty", "Quick Wash" and "Whitest Whites." You need not choose water levels, spin strength or anything....just set the dial and the machine does all of the guesswork for you!
You put your detergent, fabric softerer and bleach into a slide-out drawer beforehand, each compartment is clearly labeled. You choose your setting with the dial, push two buttons and viola, your off to the

I have owned various appliances and have never had any problems with Whirlpool items. My only complaint about this model (and it may be the new trend) is the length of the cycles. On the first load of whites I put in, I selected the "bright white" cycle and only found out after I turned it on that it took 2 hours. The sanitize cycle takes 3 hours. The normal cycle is 56 minutes, which is double the time of my old machine. Otherwise, I am very happy with the washer. The clothes get clean, the spin cycle gets out more water so the dying time is reduced and it is very quiet and energy efficient. The pros greatly exceed the cons. Read more
