TV remote and Songwriter do not get along!

My Crosley Songwriter kept randomly shutting down and I was about to return it when I discovered that our TV remote was the culprit. We have a TV in the same room we put the Songwriter in and anytime the Songwriter would be on the and any button would be pressed on the TV remote the Songwriter would shut off. I solved the problem by putting a piece of black electrical tape over the sensor for the Songwriter's remote. Now I can't use the remote for this, but I didn't buy it because it had a remote. I haven't recorded a CD yet, but I am happy with all of the other functions and I my records sound great on it! I just wanted to write this in case anyone else had the same problem with theirs. I've had it almost 4 weeks. Today both the skip track buttons on the unit are'nt working when playing CDs. The remote gets it done so i suspect they are just really cheap buttons. There's a lot of noise added when converting tape to CD. It would be nice if you could record FM to CD. I am happy with the record->cd conversion and the sound quality when playing records Read more

I think this unit is great for putting all my vinyl on CD's. I have noticed that my TV remote when used for any reason shuts down my Crosley Songwrtitter. Not a problem for me... I would certainly recomend to all my friends. Read more
