We love this thing...we've used it in the kitchen right before we used the our new Bissel Steam mop :) Everything about it is just what the other 5 star reviews mention...The high pitched whine is a little annoying but we are only using it more small quick clean-ups. I've had this now for over three months, and am ready to share my opinion. I have three kids (inculding a tween and twin toddlers, AKA the twinados), one dog, two cats, lots of tracked in dirt, and my all time nemesis, the sand box. We have hardwood floors, one area rug, and tile. I was using a sweeper, but got tired of the sand being kicked around all over the floor, and small items getting brushed up into the collection bin. My regular vacuum is too much for quick clean up, so I decided to try a stick vac that had a brush too. So here the good stuff: I love that the vacuum sits in its own charging dock - so easy to keep charged and keep the cord out of the hands (mouth) of toddlers; the handle folds down, so it's compact and unseen in my house; it has so far sucked up sand, dirt, paper scraps, crayons (broken ones), dry goods (e.g. cereal, pretzles, crackers, etc), hair (human & pet), kitty litter (use brush, not just vacuum), beads, dust bunnies, and so much more. I have 2 cats and a dog on top of that I have mostly all hardwood floors in the house with the exception of few rugs and some carpet in the basement. I have found my self always sweeping and vacuuming with a regular vacuum. But as I have found out the only way to vacuum hardwood floor was with the attachments and that was a back braking work. I went out and bought the AccuCharge Bagless Cordless Stick last weekend and it had changed my life. I use it all the time on all the hard to get places. It has replaced my broom. There is no more pet hair and fine dust hanging out on my floor. Because the head is so close to the floor it get every thing without spiting it right back out. But the bigger things like pet food are too large to pass the gap between the floor and the head of the vacuum and get left on the floor. I bought this for our home theater. We have stadium seating and my big Kerby couldn't get between and under the seats on the risers. This little vaccum can fit anywhere and I was happily suprised how well it picks up everything. The carpet is a commercial grade dark theatre carpet and it sucks up popcorn and everything else. I use it in the home gym on the dark Brazilian Cherry floors and it picks up dust like a charm. The thick/plush piled carpet in the play room also fluffs right up and the canaster show me that it's pulling the dirt out. Now I don't even have to bring the Kerby down to the lower level, this Dirt Devil takes care of all the floors with ease. It holds a charge well, and only takes 6 hours to recharge. It has this awesome little base it drops right into and an indicator light comes on to know you've made the connection and it's charging. this is a small vacum so if your looking for a vacum for a larger home, this product is not for you, however, if you are looking for a good, affordable vacum for a few rooms or a apartment or small home, look no further. this is the product for you. the idea of a vacum that works on both carpeted and hard floors is just as good as the idea to make this product both bagless and cordless. imagine not having to transfer outlets every few feet or every other room. this vacum is simply great. it does everything it says it does. great charge life, suction power, and swivel head. did i forget to mention this product is so lightweight my 15 month old daughter can push it? bottom line, worth every penny.
