Ok, here's the skinny. It's black and chrome so every speck of dirt will scream. Pro: You'll clean it constantly because even a single streak makes the entire cooktop look dirty. Con: You'll clean it constantly because even a single streak makes the entire cooktop look dirty. It is very difficult to clean, be prepared to use some elbow grease for stains. Additionally the touch pad for the controls isn't very precise and feels a little chintzy, we'll see how long it lasts. The Good?: Works beautifully, the "PROOF" setting for dough is genius. Convection is awesome, you can put multiple items in with no loss of temperature and time. Heats quickly and precisely. Very large oven and self-cleans well. It IS a beautiful range. Overall I would not recommend this because I obcess with trying to keep the black reflective cooktop clean and it's impossible. Read more

I love to cook and a good range is very important to me. My husband and I decided to renovate our kitchen and we bought quite a few Samsung appliances. We really enjoy the stove for about three months, but found that the stove top is very hard to clean. Unfortunately, the other day when I pulled out a small baking dish and accidentally tapped it lightly against the side of the oven door and to my surprise the whole front door was covered with spiderweb lines. The door was totally broken. My range is still under warranty, but the costumer service people were not very helpful. They kept telling me that it is considered physical damage and not manufacture defect, so they can't do anything for me. It was very disappointing since I didn't even have to hit it very hard to break the glass door. Now I have to pay for the repairs of the glass door within three months of my purchase date. Read more

One Very Nice Range!

Honestly, while in the process of remodeling my kitchen I first noticed this range because of the appearance and large knobs. But then after much research with all the more well known oven brands and my requirements - Convection, Stainless, warming drawer, a 5th (low heat burner), and = or < $1000... this range hit the top of my list, after a bit more research I bought one.

I haven't used the steam clean option yet. The warming drawer is not a 2nd oven with a true thermostat but has 3 settings (L,M,H) and while not warm enough to cook anything will keep your dishes warm nicely if your prep timing is as bad as mine. The warming zone (5th burner) is for low heat and has 3 settings as well.

When convection is selected, the temp is automatically lowered by 25 degrees (which seems about right). The 3 convection fans are virtually silent, and stop when the door is opened. They are also used during normal pre-heat and the oven chimes when up to selected temp. The Digital Display is Blue Flo

This has been our third disappointment with our Samsung kitchen suite. Something spilled on the top, and because of the design of the stove door it actually got between the inner and outer glass of the door. Solution: Unscrew the inner part of the door.

Now, spilling on any stove does happen now and again, and the point to this type of range (glass top) is that it is supposed to be easy to clean and maintain. Not only is the surface itself harder to clean than any other glass top stove I've seen, but the leaking into the door is weird and should be easy to design around.

Apart from that, the controls are well laid out if not always intuitive (things like the cooking timer take some getting used to and are not intuitive.) The heating elements are well laid out, and the knobs have a satisfying smooth motion that gives the stove a quality feel. Heating happens quickly, which was important to us - we would have preferred a gas range, but that can't be hooked up in our condo.

Overall, th

We were originally looking for a completely black range, since we have no stainless accents in our kitchen. However, we fell in love with the style and features available on the Samsung range. We actually prefer this model to the more expensive one, because of the black accents and the fact that the touchpad isn't one of the smooth glass ones. I and other people I know have problems making those glass touchpads recognize us when we touch them - I have to lick my finger and tap it really quickly and ridiculous things like that. The more standard bubble ones (like on this range) are much easier to use.
The oven cavity is gigantic and the warming drawer spans almost the full width of the range. We found that many other storage/warming drawers only were 18" wide or so when you opened them. Additionally, the drawer glides on the Samsung line are much smoother and sturdier than on similarly priced ranges. They feel more like the high end Electrolux and Bosch models. Read more
