I have to admit I agonized over this purchase for an entire day this past weekend. On the left I had this Dynex tv (unadvertised special price $779) and on the right the Westinghouse and Insignia 42" 1080p's (sale and clearance priced at $949).

I was very concerned about how washed out the Dynex picture looked, but I knew I was looking at an analog signal, and had a hunch that the HDMI signal would be much improved based on earlier reviews here.

The Westinghouse and Insignia sets looked very good but not an extra $250 good.

In the end I went with my gut and grabbed the Dynex since I am using an xbox 360 as a media extender/dvd/hddvd/gaming system via HDMI, and WOW all I can say is SLEEPER DEAL OF THE CENTURY!

After a 12% off coupon I somehow managed to get away with using my final price was $685 O_o.

BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY! This is a cheap set so I am counting on it breaking at some point. Warranty = new TV, so it's worth it to me.

However, if you are not using HDMI, I HIGHLY

I saw this Dynex in the story next to a half dozen name brands hardly noticed a difference. Except for being able to afford this one hehe. After some adjustment in the menu this tv looks as good if not better than my friend's 32" and 50" bravia. The picture is so crystal clear company appears to be in a trance while watching. Regular cable looks outstanding but you'll notice a HUGE difference when you come across a broadcast in true 1080p. Even the difference between 1080i and 1080p is very evident from 11 feet away. My living room is only about 10X15 so the sound is loud and clear. If you're on a tight budget like me get this television. You won't regret it. Read more

This is my first LCD TV. It is replacing a Toshiba 50" rear projection TV that I used at 1080i over component inputs. I know it is hard to objectively review anything as a consumer since we normally do not get a chance to really compare a lot of different TV's, in depth, other than what you see in a store display. As one other reviewer stated, once you have this in your home you will honestly not be able to tell the difference since most people don't have all the other HD TV's around to compare it to.

I was a little apprehensive about getting a TV with a brand I never heard of. One thing that helped me decide was that my brother purchased the same TV about a month ago and he recommended it to me. I researched it a bit on the inet and found that this particular TV had favorable reviews. Dynex is BB's house brand as pointed out already. This gave me a bit more confidence in my purchase.

Needless to say, I had to have the TV replaced the first day. The red channel on both component inpu

Overall this TV is one of the most affordable 1080P TVs on the market. For those reading this review hoping to get a "Sony"esque review, sorry it isnt going to happen. The TV does well with HD Television as well as HD Video Games from both PS3 and Xbox 360. The HDMI ports carry audio as well as video which is a feature simtimes not found in the more affordable 1080P units. The movement is very fluid for an LCD that is 60Hz with an average response time of 8ms. During extremely fast motion there is a slightly pixelization effect going on and when playing games there is a fraction of a second, I mean a very, very small amount of delay before the screen responds to the command you are giving it. Gran Turismo 5 looked great along with Halo 3 and the detail even in shadowy areas was good. If you are a big fan of audio/visual stuff then you may want to check this tv out closely at the store first. Upclose you can see that there are individual pixels that are green, red, blue which when combi

First of all, it looks great ! It takes a little time getting your preferred setting established but it is worth playing around with. The HDTV pictures from my HD cable box are really good, especially on live sports and music events.

Opening the box and placing it on your TV stand takes no more than 2 minutes, very easy and well packaged. If you plan to use this for television via over-the-air HD stations, you then connect your TV antenna, go to the SETUP area in the Dynex, choose AIR as your signal source and do a channel scan. The Dynex will find and store any HDTV and DTV signals your antenna is picking up.

If you plan on using this for TV watching via cable or satellite, you have a little more set-up work to do. The Dynex TV has to be connected to your cable box or satellite receiver, you will need to make sure your satellite or cable box is a HD box. Assuming you have an HD box, you then need to determine which method you are going to use to connect the box with the Dynex. Usual
