This is a great first camera for a child. We purchased this for our 6 year old son for him to take pictures on vacation. He loves it. He uses it a lot. It has quite a few features, and he has been able to master most of the features. He especially enjoys the timer, so he too can get in the shot. We download the pictures for him, which is fairly easy to do. He has frequently dropped it, it's been used in wet conditions, and it has been surprising durable. It is small and lightweight. There are a few cons. We use transparent tape to hold the memory card in, as it falls out when the camera is jarred. There is only the screen (no optic view finder), which means going through batteries more quickly. However, 2 sets of lithium AAA generally last a week of taking a couple hundred pics. We can buy AAA batteries anywhere (as opposed to special rechargeable), and we don't need to worry about our son plugging things into an outlet to charge his camera. You get what you pay for! I figured how bad could this be? Well, I made the wrong decision with this purchase. The flash is WAY too bright....and you can't adjust it either. The pictures don't turn out good with flash unless you are far far away from it (cause everything is just so light). Pictures taken outside turned out pretty good though, but didn't upload to my computer so don't know for sure how good they really were. After using it for about 30 mins, the busy light just stays on, like it's locked up, so you can't change the flash settings or do anything. Nothing we do can get the busy light to turn off. So, this one is going back and I am not getting another one. But, if you are looking for something for taking pictures outdoors then this would be ok, I guess. Read more

We bought this for our sons 8th bday and he loves it. Downloading is easy, cons would be flash setting. Some pics are light in contrast. outdoor and motion pics are great otherwise just turn the light on. As far as batteries go, I learned not to long ago that with children and the amount of controllers, toys and rc cars that u MUST invest in rechargeable batteries. For $20 buck u get energizer charger and a set of AA and AAA batteries. We have uploaded about 200 pics + and still going on 1 single charge. BEST INVESTMENT! Bought this camera for work to take pictures out in the shop and wanted something cheap in case someone got rough with it. Camera has a nice large digital display, which is nice, but it also would explain the extremely short battery life. It does take decent pictures and does have a zoom function and a few other basic options. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for the cheapest thing out there. If you're looking for a camera to buy for personal use and want to take more than 30 pictures at a time, keep looking. Read more
