I am from Seattle WA, so a mat's ability to stand up to constant wet weather in the winter is a must. I bought this mat for my baseball-loving husband, thinking I would put it indoors somewhere for him. When it showed up, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was a very durable mat that could sit outside in the rain, and be used to wipe muddy Seattle shoes. I bought this as a h.s. graduation present for the catcher on my daughter's softball team; she will play in college. It was a HIT at her party! She'll use it in her dorm room, but her dad could easily use one at home to welcome her visits. It would be a great gift for a coach, or for any baseball/softball fanatic...I just hope a workaholic doesn't use it at his or her business office; that would be very telling to call one's office "Home"!
