<h1>LOUDEST A/C EVER!!!</h1>

        <p>
        After a very sleepless evening, I am writing this review just before I pack up this A/C to bring it back. I cannot believe the noise this thing makes. I was up all night, at times in shock at the extreme noise that came out of this A/C. It does everything it claims to...cools completely...even a bigger space than BTU's should do...but the noise is unreal! I could not hear the TV unless it was way up and for the little time that I did sleep, I woke up with the biggest headache. I am very disappointed. I usually like the noise of an air conditioner but this is CRAZY! Once Energy Saver kicks in the unit shuts off and then your head is throbbing and ears are ringing. No joke! Think twice before purchasing this if you ever want to hear a thing in your home again, as well as your own thoughts! <a href="http://www.buzzillions.com/reviews/frigidaire-8000-btu-room-air-conditioner-reviews#bz-model-review-8008855">Read more</a>

        <p>
        This is a very good unit and it works quickly and efficiently to cool a room. I have two of these units, an 8000 btu for my bedroom (a 6000 Btu would have been sufficient but it was a gift) and a 12,000 BTU in my living room which I purchased. I don't think you could beat the quality for the price. The only thing left that remains to be seen is how long the unit will last. Both of these replaced units that worked well for over 10 years and as I only bought them this summer their shelf life is unknown. The MAJOR issue for me is how loud this unit is. I would NOT have gotten this unit for a bedroom if I had known how loud it was. I am honestly afraid to sleep with my door closed now because I cannot hear ANYTHING outside of my bedroom door when this unit is on. The living room unit does not pose this particular problem though it is just as loud. You can reduce the fan speed on this unit which cuts back on the noise but I'm not sure how this will effect performance long term. Overall a go

        This unit has an extremely noisy fan. On low-fan speed, this unit is louder than any of my four other window A/C units when they are set on high fan speed. The compressor noise level is fairly low and about the same as my other window units.

I live in an area which has a high level of traffic noise and this A/C unit provides enough white noise to make it a good selection for my bedroom. I WOULD NOT CONSIDER this unit for a room in which you want to watch TV or listen to music. Some people may not want this level of white noise in the room where they sleep.

This unit is a model FAA085P7A and not the FAA086P7A unit that is shown on the Frigidare web site. The FAA085P7A does not have the same full-function remote as the FAA086P7A nor the outside air venting of the FAA086P7A. The full-function remote allows you to view the current temperature setting on the remote and use the remote as a remote temperature sensor, should you desire. If you have an odd-shaped room or just want to sense ai

        My bedroom is 280-300 sq feet and juts out from the back, so in a sense it is single story (and has a ten foot ceiling). This unit should cool a 350 sq foot area. Doesn't even come close. Running continuously, it gets the room down to 76 to 77. Of course it is 93 outside in the day time and drops to 80-82 at night. By 1:00 in the morning, I get up and turn it up to 78 so it can cycle and thus save energy, otherwise it would just run constantly and never get down to 74. This unit will be moved to the study which is only a 110 sq ft room. It is SO LOUD it is like having a car front end in your bedroom...with the engine running. Cycle on and off and it is hard to get a good night sleep. Imagine sleeping and somebody suddenly starts a car in your room!
I read that a room like mine you should install a unit that is 50% higher than what you would expect based on floor space. I should have paid heed to the experts and not to the manufacture.
Is it a bad system? I don't think so, I think I gav

        Im amazed that in all the reviews Ive read that no one mentions the fact that this unit, (when you set it for Auto Temp and Energy Saver from the remote) shuts off when it reaches the room temperature youve set on the digital thermostat!!!!
I have a two story home and have one on each floor and they keep the house very comfortable. I bought the first Frigidaire unit the beginning of last summer to replace the old upstairs unit. I was skeptical of the brand, but was pleasantly surprised! I discovered that when you set the temp with the remote, the unit shut off when it reached the programmed temperature. I could keep the upstairs set higher during the day and turn it down in the evening. It ran far less than prior unit. When I saw the difference in my first utility bill I ran out and replaced the 1st floor unit (a 2-year old Carrier that ran continuously in spite of digital settings) and saw my utility bill drop even further.
Whenever I hear that someone is interested in purchasing an a
