I took up golf again this year after a 15 year hiatus. I was looking to get as good of a set of irons and woods as I could on a pretty small budget. I ran across the callawaypreowned site after a google search. I didn't want to spend too much money, especially since I was unsure how much I'd be playing. Well, I got the "bug" again pretty bad and I'm overall happy that I purchased a 3-SW set of the X-14s this spring. The golf technology has improved so dramatically since I stopped playing in the early 90s, so I think that these irons are at least as comparable as the Pine Eye 2's I used to play. I like their look a lot and I ended up going super budget and getting the "average" condition set, and I thought they were in pretty decent shape. I do think I've lost about almost a club distance, but again, the last time I was playing I was a little younger, so maybe that's the reason. But I'd certainly recommend these clubs to just about anyone, especially to those on a budget. Truth be told

From a 152 Slope Course to a 116, I've played them all with these clubs. X-14 3-PW,SW I've had them since they were introduced and want to buy new ones. Come on Callaway, Build them again! They feel comfortable and are consistant from the juicious fairways of Tour Courses to the stone hard clay roughs of some Military Courses. I had the option to upgrade to X20 but passed because of the feel of my X-14s. Light and easy to swing. They are also so durable that I'll just regrip them again and use them for at least another few years. And don't worry, my handicap is high do to being known for my three put on every hole. Read more

Just started to play again after a couple of years and my old clubs just didn't have the feel or accuracy i wanted. Went looking at new sets and found an used X 14 set.

Hit a bucket and just played 18 holes. The accuracy, distance, and loft were exactly what I wanted. The fellows I was playing with couldn't believe I had just started again. I figure I should be shooting low 80s in another month or so, once I get the range down for each club.

Life is good. Read more

I've had these clubs for I believe 7 years now and have loved them since day 1. I can hit every club extremely crisp from the PW all the way down to the 2-iron. I haven't really tried any new irons since I got these, but I just love the sweet spot...I seem to hit it almost every time. I have no problem working the ball left or right or keeping it low or hitting it high. Since the X-14s are a little outdated at this point I would highly suggest these clubs to "beginners" trying to create a nice "starter" set. Read more
