Excellent Performance - Some Design Flaw

        Kansas City Griller
        from
        Kansas City, MO

Overall, this grill has provided excellent performance. The cast iron, porcelain-coated grills are heavy-duty, but high maintenance (e.g. clean with brass brush after each use, and coat with olive oil before each use). The fold-down shelves on either side of the grill are handy and sturdy, but if you don't have any kind of straps on your grilling utensils, the hooks on the front of the shelves are useless.

Design Flaws
1. I bought the natural gas model, but when you open the doors on the front, the inside bottom has a hole where you'd put a propane tank. Since this is not a multi-fuel grill, the propane tank holder is useless. Broil King should manufacture a separate base for the natural gas version.
2. Not a biggie, but the rotisserie gas knob is lined up too close to the other two gas knobs. I have turned the rotisserie knob on several times and tried to light with the electric start. Only when the grill doesn't start, and I smell gas do I realize I've turned the wrong knob. Read more

Unlike most "easy assembly" products, this grill went together with ease and precision like I've never experienced. No bending or forcing, no immediate modifications to get the thing to work. Something truly impressive, refreshing, and rare. I knew that the grill would be great simply from how it went together... I was right, it is. There are fancier prettier grills (this company makes them too), but none more functional than this one. Unless you're trying to impress your neighbors, why spend more? This grill does what a grill should do. CML. Read more

We replaced our 10 year old Ducane grill with this one This grill gets HOT very quickly. The grill marks on the food are great and everything cooks really evenly.
The outside handle gets hotter than I would like and the rotisserie burner gets in the way with regular grilling so we remove it.
Overall, a great product and I look forward to many years of using this grill. Read more

I found the unit easy to assemble and convenient to use. I bought the natural gas version which is great since I can use it all the time without worrying about running out of fuel. One negative is that flare ups seem common especially with high fat meats like hamburgers. Flames can reach over 6' from the grilling surface. Stand back!. I guess this adds to the flame broiled flavor. Other than that negative the grill looks and feels high quality. Read more

Whithin its price range the performance of this grill is amazing. It will get wicked hot super fast for a char, the the heat can be backed off to very low for slow and soft. The dedicated rotisserie burne is a great addition. It can be set to burn slow and low for, rib roast, leg of lamb, chickens, whatever!. Easy clean up! Read more
