I like the fact that the S2001 has a built-in rechargable battery. No AAA's to swap out. Also, I like the fact that the battery charges through the USB, so you don't need a wall wart. The included accessories are fine, and the unit sounds good. Some of the DSP's are weird sounding, but you'll find one that you like. I prefer the "bass" setting. I used to work for a national electronics retailer, and we carried Lyra's earlier in the decade. This is far better and less expensive than RCA's older units. The first S2001 I ordered had a broken rechargeable battery. The second S2001 I received had no earphones in the package. NOTE THESE ARE BOTH RCA PROBLEMS AND NOT [...]!My second S2001 is working fine however. It's great for working out in the gym. The buttons are meant to be tough to use because it's for workouts. The sound isn't the best I've ever heard but I'm happy with it. Read more

The RCA Lyra was my first Mp3 player. Since it was a great little player, when my Creative Zen Nano player gave out, I looked for another RCA. This one is very disappointing. The rechargable battery is supposed to last for eighteen hours. When I first charged it, I played it for one day and had to charge it again. I had to order another set of headphones to see if that helps. I am sorry I didn't send it back. Read more
