Coffee Drinkers Rejoice!

This is our second unit. We bought our first in 1998, and it has made as many as 8 pots a day, every day, for ten years. We bought this one as a replacement (there is nothing wrong with the old one, we just wanted a new one), and it is nice to see that Krups has not changed the design, except to make it better. Where the old machine had glass-lined carafes, this new one is stainless steel inside and out. The only thing (minor) that we do not like about the machines (new and old) is that there is a small hole in the back, in between the two water reservoirs. If you overfill the reservoir, water can leak out that hole. It's doing what it was designed to do, but we always put a piece of tape across it. Who doesn't like more coffee, right? While the idea and design of this coffee maker appear good, both of the water dispensers leak while the pot is filling, and, one of the lids covering the filter broke off in the first week due to a small, ineffectual plastic piece that was definitely not designed to last. Would be nice if there was a timer on the machine. Nice design, carafes keep coffee warm for a good, long time, good coffee. I would not buy this product again. Read more

I bought this coffee maker 9 years ago and just bought another one recently just because I like the brush stainless steel carafes. The other had a shiny exterior but is still perking good coffee, so I passed it on to someone else to enjoy. I use it everyday and sometimes more than once a day when I have company visiting. It sure is nice not to have to wait till one pot is finished before perking another. The coffee perks quickly and the carafes keep it hot. No negative comments from this writer. Read more
