We have had this oven for a couple of years and have liked it well enough. I recently used the self clean feature for the first time. I set the self clean cycle and walked away. When I returned several hours later, I discovered that the inner glass of the oven door had shattered while very hot. Shards of broken glass were scattered on our hardwood floor causing multiple burn marks. I subsequently learned that the glass was likely at 800F; it only takes 450F to ignite paper.

If the inner glass breaks, the design of the door of this oven allows the hot broken glass to fall out the bottom of the door. Most other ovens that I have examined will not allow this to happen; they are designed so that broken glass will stay within the oven cavity.

Kitchenaid has confirmed that glass breakage is a foreseeable event that sometimes happens, but they refuse to connect the dots that in this oven glass breakage during the self clean cycle causes an additional risk of fire because the very

New oven just installed, Heat coming from vent is rediculous. Living in Texas does not make this Oven/Space heater combination very practical. I'm running the airconditioner to cool the house from the oven. I have had this oven for about 5 months and it is so very quiet when the convection is in use. My husband picked it out because he like the quality of it, and I liked the look. the blue enterior got my eye. It cooks very well, even and fast, I had to get use to the fact that the top burner comes on when you preheat if you put anything in before time it will brown very quickly. I have also used the self-clean and it worked wonderfully - my old kitchenaide would mess up every time you cleaned it - but this one got clean and and shiny no problem, but make sure you remove all racks Read more

-The oven has a well designed display.
-It has a rack with support rollers that is ideal for pulling out or putting in roasts or turkeys
- I love the blue interior color
-I have tried the regular, convection, and broil settings and had good experiences with all three Read more
