I have owned a Sunbeam Hot Shot since the early 1980's. It is truly the best appliance. In 90 seconds, you get up to 16 oz of near boiling water. Unlike using a microwave, the water is hotter, stays hot longer, and in less time. I use this whenever I need hot water - beverages, cooking, oatmeal. It is a very simple to use, reliable (I am on my second in 25+ years). I am always surprised at how few people are familiar with this product, but once they see it in use, they love it! Read more

I own two Hot Shots and have given several as gifts - everyone loves them. Water doesn't have the funny taste of microwaved water. If you do one cup it's almost instantly ready, and two cups take just a little longer. I use mine at home several times every day and have one at our weekend ranch as well. Read more

We have had one of these since they first appeared (25+ yrs.)! We have provided many to family and friends and used them as gifts (some per request). Our children use them in their dorm rooms, and we, family and coworkers use them in our offices. They're perfect for tea drinkers, making instant foods that require hot/boiling water, jell-o, etc. You can measure water before heating. We keep one in our motorhome and we keep two spares on hand just in case so we are never caught without one. One of the most useful and used appliances we've had! Read more

The updated design (I had my last one for several years) is very nice. The water dispenses faster and without steam burning your fingers. The heat button is placed better, also. There is little chance of accidentally pushing "heat" rather than "dispense". Read more
