iVE USED i OWN A RANE AND VESTAX 05 FOR YEARS AMONG OTHER MIXERS..BUT I ALWAYS HAD TO CHANGE THE x-FADER BUT IVE OWNED A ORIGINAL QD5 AND GET THIS I WOULD TAKE IT THE STUDIO ,THEN TO THE RADIO SATION TO DO MY MIX SHOWS ,THEN TO THE CLUB AT NIGHT AND FOR 5 YEARS I NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE X FADER. I BOUGHT THIS NEW QD5MK2 AND AM LOVING IT! I USE THE OLD QD5 AS BACK UP AND THIS AS MY MAIN MIXER. THE FADER IS BUTTER...JUST TILTING IT TO THE SIDE OR BLOWING ON THE FADER IT MOVES!! PLUS ALL FADERS GOT CURVE ADJUSTMENTS!! AND ITS GOT BALANCED AND RCA'S OUT'S! PLUS AS A BONUS A LITTLE LIGHT CONTROLLER OUT PUT TO RUN A CHASER CONTROLLER VIA THE -1/4 JACK! THE MIC IS GREAT ITS GOT A TALKOVER SO THE MUSIC DROPS AS YOU TALK WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE BUTTON! OHH FOR YOU CRAB FANS ITS GOT A REVERSE SWITCH FOR EACH CHANNEL(BONUS!) This is a really excellent mixer for the price, with HUGE flexibility. Crossfader curve control, curve control for the upfaders, reverse switch for the crossfader, and would you believe? Reverse switches for the upfaders too! (so up is volume off, moving down increases volume when reverse is enabled). Kill switches for the bass, mid, and treble, balanced XLR mains out, and a few other things I probably can't remember off the top of my head. Oh yeah, and an excellent optical crossfader.
