I thought I'd give an Electrolux refrigerator a try since I've been a fan of their vacuum cleaners for years. Big mistake. Although the fridge looks great, the quality of the shelves and overall interior is extremely poor. I just received my replacement for my original one that had crooked freezer drawers. It made it very difficult to open and close and looked terrible for a three thousand dollar appliance. I had a technician come out to adjust them but he said it was a manufacturer defect and he wouldn't be able to drill holes in the sides of the freezer to adjust them. The new one arrived today and guess what? The ice maker drawer and the refrigerator drawers on the new one are crooked, too! I can't believe it. Poor quality and poor workmanship. So now I will be returning the Electrolux and buying another brand altogether. The Electrolux replaced a GE side by side that gave me over 20 years of flawless service. Positives = great initial cooldown (only took 2 1/4 hrs after plug in to reach recommended temps); great freezer capacity,accessibility & design; great looking; easy to replace handles (scratched in delivery); WaveTouch controls are intuitive & easy to use; needed to call customer service for what turned out to be an installation problem - the Electrolux phone reps were the best I've ever encountered. Negative = GE had better door storage for condiments. The Electrolux door has a virtually worthless bottom cubby and wasted space above the butter keeper. The door storage in the full-sized model would have been fine, but I needed the counter depth, so that's the tradeoff Read more

In April 2009, we were trying to choose between a less expensive, similar height refridgerators. Well, the pricey Electrolux won out as it had such quality design/features, and it was Energy efficient, as well. What's more, the body is encased in stainless steel/stainless steel-like material instead of the gray or black textured body. Therefore, the doors and sides all match beautifully, which was important to us because one entire side of the refridgerator is exposed in our kitchen, and we wrestled with the color of the casing. We love the look! One thing is that you have to angle your cup/glass appropriately to prevent the ice from shooting out onto the floor. Nevertheless, we're very pleased thus far. Read more

Agree with other posters about the ice shooting out of the dispenser fast and otherwise this refrigerator rocks. I believe that I got a used/refurbished fridge the first time from Sears (a lot of little strange things wrong) but to their credit delivered another without a fight and the replacement is what I'd hoped for.
