I love the Loving Family dolls! My children have some of the new ones, some of the old ones, and some which are so "antique" that their pain is coming off-- yet even the babysitter we have with "eighties hair" still is in great working order, despite being handed from family to family. The houses didn't hold up quite as well... but my children play daily with the loving family dolls. I love it that the house size and doll size is continuous from the originals forward, so you can play with them all together. Right now, my five year old son LOVES playing with the little boy and Dad dolls. He plays with them along with Transformers, makes special capes and jet-packs for the Dad doll (AW!) and he even plays with them in the bathtub- which, unlike the new "little people" which fill with water, causes no trouble at all! I bought the family 7-1/2 years ago for my then-two year old son, to help him deal with the addition of a baby sister to our family. It helped that at the time, the mom, dad and boy loked eerily like us. In the first month or so after his sister's arrival, the baby girl kept getting "lost" or "left behind" at the park or the store....and each time, I called the company up, and they sent me a replacement baby for a very nominal price. And after 3 miralculous "reapearances", he became resigned to the fact that she was sticking around. My daughter now plays with the dolls, plus others we have aquired as aunts, grandparetns, the older children etc, and the ability to go into the tub realy is geat. My son will still play dollhouse sometimes with his sister. And they are scaled right for the expensive wooden dolhouse she got last chritmas - so much easier to play with than the family that came with it.... Read more

I purchased this product for my classroom. I also purchased the large house and most of the accessories. The dolls were very fun for the children to play with, and I didn't have to worry that they would get broken. Both boys and girls enjoyed playing with it. It was one of the best class puchases. It stood up to over 50 3-5 year olds hands, didn't have parts that were too small and provided hours of entertainment! I am planning to puchase this doll set for my own daughter. Read more
